Malaysians with a creative streak and a passion for electric vehicles can now put their imagination to the test, as Proton New Energy Technology Sdn Bhd (PRO-NET) launches e.MAS Impianku, a nationwide AI-powered design contest that could turn their dream electric vehicles into personalised 3D-printed collectibles. Running from 19 October to 30 November 2026, the campaign invites Malaysians to use generative artificial intelligence (AI) to create their ideal Proton e.MAS vehicle, giving participants the freedom to explore futuristic designs, imaginative features and personal touches they would love to see in tomorrow’s electric vehicles.
Whether it is a bold new exterior design, clever technology or a distinctive styling concept, the contest offers a chance for everyday Malaysians to share their vision of what the next generation of electric mobility could look like. The initiative comes as Proton e.MAS continues to strengthen its position in Malaysia’s electrified vehicle market. Its lineup includes the Proton e.MAS 5, which the company identifies as Malaysia’s No. 1 EV model in 2026, and the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV, the country’s best-selling plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) in the same year.
Beyond encouraging creativity, e.MAS Impianku reflects PRO-NET’s effort to involve the public in conversations about future vehicle development, gathering ideas that offer a glimpse into the features, designs and technologies Malaysians value. “Through e.MAS Impianku, we want to give Malaysians a fun and creative way to imagine their ideal EV and bring those ideas to life through AI. Whether it’s bold designs, innovative features or unique personal touches, we’re excited to see how Malaysians envision their future Proton e.MAS,” said PRO-NET Chief Executive Officer Zhang Qiang. He added that the submissions would provide valuable insights into the designs, technologies and experiences Malaysians would like to see in future electric vehicles.
Joining the general public contest is designed to be straightforward, even for participants who are new to AI-generated design. PRO-NET has provided a recommended AI prompt on the campaign microsite, which participants can customise or use as inspiration for their own creations. To enter, participants must be at least 18 years old and reside in Malaysia. They can then follow four simple steps:
- Visit protonemasimpianku.com and select the “Open Category” under the submission form.
- Copy the recommended AI prompt from the “How to Join” section.
- Use any generative AI platform to customise the prompt and create their dream e.MAS design.
- Upload the completed design to the microsite and fill in the submission form.
All eligible entries will be featured in a digital gallery on the campaign website, where the public can browse the creations and vote for their favourites from 5 to 13 December 2026. The 20 designs receiving the highest number of votes will advance to the final judging stage. The winners will subsequently be announced at an official PRO-NET event in January 2027.
Eight winners will be rewarded with 3D-printed versions of their designs, giving their virtual concepts a physical form. Three grand prize winners will each receive an approximately 10-inch 3D-printed model of their winning creation, while five elite prize winners will receive miniature 3D-printed collectibles. For participants, the reward goes beyond recognition: it is an opportunity to see an idea developed on a screen become something they can hold and display.
PRO-NET is also extending the initiative to university students through the e.MAS Impianku University Students Edition, giving young Malaysians a dedicated platform to showcase their creativity and contribute their ideas to the future of electric mobility. The student contest runs alongside the general public competition, from 19 October to 30 November 2026. It is open to students aged 18 and above who are enrolled in recognised higher education institutions in Malaysia.
The entry process is similarly simple. Students must visit protonemasimpianku.com, select the “University Category” in the submission form, copy the recommended AI prompt, create their dream e.MAS design using a generative AI platform, and upload their work with the completed submission form. Unlike the general public contest, however, the university edition will not involve public voting. Instead, a judging panel will select the winners based entirely on its assessment of the submissions.
Three students will receive cash prizes, with RM1,000 awarded to the grand prize winner, RM600 for second place and RM400 for third place. Another 12 participants will receive Creative Merit Awards, each consisting of exclusive Proton e.MAS merchandise. The university category gives students an opportunity to explore the intersection of creativity, AI and automotive design, while encouraging them to think about how electric vehicles could evolve to meet the needs of future generations.
Both contests accept multiple design submissions, but each participant may enter only one category. All entries must be original AI-generated creations and comply with the respective contest terms and conditions. Submissions close at 11.59pm on 30 November 2026, so participants will need to complete their entries before the deadline. It is also worth noting that the designs are conceptual creations and should not be interpreted as confirmed future Proton e.MAS production models.
Through e.MAS Impianku, PRO-NET is bringing the public into the creative side of electric mobility, allowing Malaysians to go beyond choosing the EV they want to drive and imagine the EV they would like to see on the road.
