PRO-NET continues to reinforce its position as a key player in Malaysia’s electrified mobility sector, with the Proton e.MAS brand achieving 17,604 year-to-date (YTD) registrations across its electric vehicle (EV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) lineup as of June 2026.
The strong performance was driven by 3,026 registrations recorded in June alone, highlighting sustained consumer interest in electrified vehicles and the growing acceptance of alternative powertrain technologies among Malaysian motorists.
At the forefront of the brand’s success is the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV, which has established itself as Malaysia’s best-selling PHEV model. The vehicle registered 1,138 units in June, bringing its cumulative YTD registrations to 4,074 units. Since its introduction in February 2026, the model has accumulated more than 11,000 bookings, demonstrating strong demand for a vehicle that combines electric mobility with the convenience of an internal combustion engine.
According to PRO-NET Chief Executive Officer Zhang Qiang, the impressive response to the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV reflects growing consumer confidence in practical electrification solutions that seamlessly fit into daily life. He noted that the model’s ability to exceed expectations within months of its launch underscores the brand’s commitment to providing innovative mobility options that cater to different stages of the electrification journey.
The Proton e.MAS 5 also continued to contribute significantly to the brand’s momentum, recording 1,309 registrations in June and further strengthening Proton e.MAS’ presence in the rapidly expanding electrified vehicle market.
A major factor behind the appeal of the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV is its value proposition. The Prime variant, priced from RM105,800, delivers running costs comparable to those of smaller A-segment vehicles while being competitively positioned within the B-segment price range. Despite this, it offers the practicality and cabin space associated with larger vehicles, featuring C-segment dimensions complemented by D-segment interior roominess. This combination makes it an attractive choice for families and drivers seeking comfort for long-distance travel without sacrificing efficiency.
Meanwhile, the fully electric Proton e.MAS 7 continues to strengthen its foothold in the local EV market. The model recorded 579 registrations in June, bringing its YTD total to 2,864 units. Since its debut in December 2025, more than 11,542 units have been registered on Malaysian roads, highlighting the steady demand for Proton’s flagship all-electric SUV.
The Proton e.MAS 7 lineup was recently expanded with the introduction of the Premium Plus variant at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS 2026). Designed to elevate comfort and convenience, the new variant features dual front massage seats, a powered front passenger seat with memory function, and an integrated passenger leg rest, creating a more luxurious travel experience.
Beyond enhanced comfort, the Premium Plus also benefits from improved charging capabilities. Despite its larger battery pack and increased equipment levels, the model supports DC fast charging speeds of up to 115kW, enabling a 30 to 80 percent charge in approximately 20 minutes. Combined with a WLTP-rated driving range of up to 450km, the new flagship variant offers a compelling blend of practicality, performance and refinement.
To make ownership even more accessible, Proton e.MAS is currently offering a limited-time Special Launch Rebate of RM7,000 across the e.MAS 7 range. With the promotion applied, prices start from RM96,800 for the Prime variant, while the range-topping Premium Plus is available from RM118,800, further enhancing the model’s competitiveness within Malaysia’s premium EV segment.
With strong registration numbers, growing customer confidence and an expanding model portfolio, Proton e.MAS continues to play a significant role in accelerating the adoption of electrified mobility in Malaysia while strengthening its position as one of the country’s leading EV and PHEV brands.
