Tesla Malaysia has expanded its presence in East Malaysia with the opening of a new Tesla Experience Centre at The Spring Shopping Mall in Kuching, Sarawak. The latest facility marks another milestone in the company’s commitment to bringing its electric vehicle ecosystem, advanced technology, and customer services closer to communities across the region.
Located at Lot G43, The Spring Shopping Mall, the new experience centre showcases Tesla’s latest vehicle lineup, including the Model 3, currently Malaysia’s best-selling electric sedan, alongside the recently introduced six-seater Model Y L SUV. Visitors can explore Tesla’s newest advancements in electric mobility, artificial intelligence, and vehicle technology through interactive displays and test-drive opportunities.
Safety remains a cornerstone of Tesla’s vehicle development philosophy. The Model 3, Model Y, and Model Y L have all earned top ratings from leading international safety assessment organisations, including the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in the United States, Euro NCAP in Europe, ANCAP in Australia and New Zealand, and C-IASI in China. These achievements reinforce Tesla’s reputation for delivering vehicles that combine safety, efficiency, performance, and cutting-edge innovation.
Adding to the ownership experience, Tesla is introducing Grok, an AI-powered assistant developed by xAI, to Tesla owners in Malaysia through Over-The-Air (OTA) software updates. Drivers can activate the assistant using voice commands, enabling a more natural and intuitive interaction between occupants and their vehicle.
Grok is designed to simplify everyday journeys through features such as voice-controlled trip planning, allowing drivers to create routes with multiple destinations and make adjustments while travelling. The assistant can also help locate nearby charging facilities, restaurants, shopping centres, banks, and other points of interest, enhancing convenience during road trips.
In addition, Grok provides explanations and guidance when vehicle alerts or warnings appear on the display, helping owners better understand notifications and potential solutions. The AI assistant also supports personalised voice interactions, enabling users to tailor Grok’s tone and communication style to suit their preferences. Whether assisting with language learning, answering questions, or entertaining passengers with stories, Grok aims to become a versatile in-car companion.
Tesla’s growth in East Malaysia is supported by a strong charging and service infrastructure. As of early 2026, more than 80 percent of Tesla owners in the region rely on home charging solutions, giving them the flexibility to recharge their vehicles conveniently. The company also plans to expand its charging network further, with additional charging stations expected across Sarawak in the near future.
To enhance aftersales support, Tesla owners in East Malaysia can access mobile service offerings and arrange maintenance appointments through Tesla Approved Bodyshops. This direct-to-customer approach ensures a seamless ownership experience, from vehicle purchase through long-term servicing.
With the launch of the Kuching Experience Centre, Tesla continues to strengthen its footprint in East Malaysia while introducing new technologies that elevate convenience, connectivity, and the overall electric vehicle ownership experience. The new facility serves as a gateway for consumers to discover Tesla’s vision for the future of sustainable transportation and intelligent mobility.
