Bermaz Xpeng Sdn Bhd has officially opened bookings for the new XPENG X9, a premium all-electric seven-seater MPV that combines advanced technology, luxurious comfort and intelligent mobility. Positioned as XPENG’s flagship family vehicle, the New X9 is designed to deliver a refined ownership experience through cutting-edge innovation, spacious practicality and class-leading electric vehicle capabilities.
Priced from RM279,888, the XPENG X9 represents the latest evolution of the brand’s vision for future mobility. According to Dato’ Sri Francis Lee, Group Chief Executive Officer of Bermaz Auto Berhad, XPENG’s commitment to accessible advanced technology is driven by its AI Tech Tree Strategy, which integrates artificial intelligence, energy solutions and embodied intelligence. He added that the company’s future plans, including local CKD operations at the EPMB facility in Melaka, are expected to strengthen Malaysia’s EV ecosystem while supporting the nation’s transition towards a more competitive and technologically advanced automotive industry.
Visually, the New X9 retains its futuristic and aerodynamic design language while introducing subtle enhancements that elevate its premium appeal. The vehicle’s distinctive “Robot Face” front fascia, seamless horizontal daytime running light and sleek silhouette continue to define its modern identity. New power-operated soft-close front doors add convenience and sophistication, while the floating roofline, expansive glasshouse and full-width rear light bar contribute to its contemporary appearance.
Inside, the cabin has been refined to create a more luxurious and family-friendly environment. Customers can choose from Coffee, Meteorite Black and a new Rose Brown dual-tone interior theme that blends rosy brown and white accents. A large 21-inch head-up display projects critical driving information directly into the driver’s line of sight, while a newly introduced ultra-fibre steering wheel enhances both comfort and sustainability. Entertainment is delivered through an upgraded 27-speaker X Opera sound system, creating an immersive audio experience throughout the cabin.
The X9’s practicality has also been improved with a series of thoughtful upgrades. Second-row seats now feature a versatile 40:60 split-folding design, making it easier to accommodate child seats, strollers and larger cargo. Third-row occupants benefit from newly added seat heating, ensuring comfort for all passengers. A smart refrigerator equipped with a child-lock function further enhances convenience during family outings and long-distance journeys.
Underpinning the New X9 is XPENG’s advanced 800V silicon carbide high-voltage platform paired with 5C ultra-fast charging technology. The entry-level Standard Range variant is equipped with a 94.8 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, delivering up to 535km of WLTP range while supporting 10 to 80 percent charging in just 12 minutes. Peak charging power reaches an impressive 537kW, providing exceptional convenience for daily use and extended travel.
For customers seeking greater range, the Long Range and AWD Performance variants are fitted with a larger 110 kWh Nickel Cobalt Manganese (NCM) battery pack. The Long Range model offers up to 615km of WLTP range, while the AWD Performance variant delivers up to 580km. Both retain the same rapid 12-minute charging capability and offer peak charging power of up to 542kW.
Technology remains a key highlight of the X9. At the heart of its intelligent driving system is the XPENG Turing AI chipset, capable of delivering up to 750 trillion operations per second (TOPS). This next-generation processor enables rapid sensor fusion, enhanced object recognition and more sophisticated decision-making capabilities. By processing data from radar, cameras and ultrasonic sensors in real time, the system provides a more intuitive and confident driving experience.
Safety and driver assistance have also been significantly enhanced. The X9 features nine airbags, an electronic child lock and a high-strength body structure engineered for superior crash protection. The latest XPILOT Assist system includes adaptive cruise control, lane centring assistance, lane change assistance, intelligent speed management and real-time environmental simulation. Advanced parking technologies such as automated parking assist, remote parking and vehicle summon functions further simplify everyday driving.
Additional safety features include a 360-degree camera system, transparent chassis view, narrow-path assistance, blind-spot monitoring, collision avoidance systems, lane departure warning, lane keeping assistance, cross-traffic alert and door opening warning, providing comprehensive protection for occupants and other road users.
The fully imported (CBU) XPENG X9 is available in five exterior colours: Arctic White, Midnight Black, Matte Gray, Lambent Cyan and the newly introduced Polar Violet, which is exclusive to the AWD Performance variant. Interior colour choices vary according to variant, allowing customers to personalise their ownership experience.
The XPENG X9 lineup starts with the FWD Standard Range at RM279,888, followed by the FWD Long Range at RM297,888 and the range-topping AWD Performance variant at RM333,888.
To provide added peace of mind, every XPENG X9 comes with a five-year manufacturer warranty or 120,000km, five years of free service and maintenance or 100,000km, as well as an eight-year high-voltage battery warranty covering up to 160,000km.
