PRO-NET is bringing its growing range of electric vehicles closer to Malaysians through a vibrant showcase at the upcoming KL Car Free Morning event in Kuala Lumpur.
Set against the backdrop of the city’s car-free initiative, the showcase will feature the latest Proton e.MAS line-up, including the Proton e.MAS 5 in Jade Green, the Proton e.MAS 7 in Turquoise Green, and the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV in Emerald Green. The trio of green-themed vehicles symbolises the brand’s commitment to sustainability and environmentally responsible mobility solutions.
According to Pn. Salawati Binti Mohd Yusoff, the event presents an ideal opportunity for PRO-NET to engage directly with the public in a setting that promotes healthier and greener urban lifestyles.
She explained that KL Car Free Morning reflects the same values Proton e.MAS aims to champion — practical, accessible and future-focused electric mobility that fits naturally into everyday life. By presenting all three models in distinctive green finishes, the company hopes to encourage more Malaysians to consider making the transition to electric vehicles.
The event also highlights the broader role electric mobility can play in supporting Malaysia’s environmental ambitions. Under the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), the country is targeting net-zero carbon emissions and 70% electrified vehicle adoption by 2050. In line with these goals, PRO-NET has continued expanding its cleaner mobility efforts, with Proton e.MAS already delivering more than 20,000 vehicles nationwide.
Based on illustrative estimates, the growing number of Proton e.MAS vehicles on Malaysian roads could potentially reduce between 80,000 and 100,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually — an impact comparable to removing up to 20,000 petrol-powered vehicles from circulation each year.
Each model within the Proton e.MAS range is designed to cater to different driving needs and lifestyles. The Proton e.MAS 5 focuses on affordability and practicality for daily urban commuting, while the Proton e.MAS 7 offers a more spacious and refined driving experience. Meanwhile, the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV combines electric efficiency with extended driving flexibility through its dual-powered capability, making it especially suitable for longer journeys.
The introduction of the green exterior finishes earlier this year has also generated strong interest among consumers and online communities. The Emerald Green Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV made its debut in April 2026, followed by the Jade Green Proton e.MAS 5 during the Penang Auto Show on 1 May 2026. The Turquoise Green finish for the Proton e.MAS 7 has already been an established option within the line-up.
Beyond aesthetics, the colour green has increasingly become associated with innovation, sustainability and future-ready technology, aligning closely with the identity Proton e.MAS seeks to build in Malaysia’s evolving EV market.
Members of the public can experience the Proton e.MAS line-up firsthand at KL Car Free Morning on Sunday, 24 May 2026, at Dataran DBKL from 7.00am to 9.00am. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the vehicles up close and learn more about how electric mobility can integrate seamlessly into everyday driving experiences.
