Malaysian endurance specialists Viper Niza Racing Team are gearing up for another high-stakes challenge at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps Circuit, aiming to secure a third consecutive podium finish at the venue during Round 2 of the Michelin 24H Series from 17 to 19 April.

The team has built an impressive record at the legendary Belgian track, having reached the podium on both of their previous visits. Their most recent success came last year, when drivers Douglas Khoo, Dominic Ang, and Melvin Moh piloted the #65 Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO to a strong second-place finish in the GT3 AM class. The trio also secured fourth in the GT3 category and an impressive sixth overall in a competitive field of 37 international entries.

Their history at Spa dates back to 2019, when the same lineup made a memorable debut by clinching victory in the PRO/AM class at the inaugural TCR SPA500. Competing in a SEAT Cupra TCR DSG, the team demonstrated its endurance racing pedigree right from the outset.

Earlier this season, Viper Niza Racing kicked off their 2025 Michelin 24H Series campaign at Mugello with a solid performance. The team completed 344 laps in the grueling 12-hour race, finishing fourth in the GT3-AM class, eighth in GT3, and tenth overall—an encouraging result that sets the tone for their European campaign.

Renowned for its high-speed layout and technical demands, Spa-Francorchamps remains one of the most challenging circuits in global motorsport. Stretching 7.004 kilometers with 19 corners, the track is equally famous for its unpredictable weather, often delivering dramatically changing conditions within the same race weekend.

Team Principal and lead driver Douglas Khoo acknowledged the circuit’s unique challenges, emphasizing the need for discipline and preparation. While the team’s past achievements at Spa are notable, Khoo stressed that success in endurance racing depends on consistency, strategy, and maintaining focus throughout the race.

This weekend’s grid will feature 44 cars, with Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO machines forming the largest contingent in the GT3 class. Among the key competitors is HOFOR Racing, last year’s overall and GT3-AM winner, as well as Continental Racing by Simpson Motorsport, which fields an Audi R8 and finished second in the GT3-AM category at Mugello.

Backed by key partners including Motul, IWC Schaffhausen as its official watch brand, Momentum Autoparts, and Sparco, Viper Niza Racing enters the Spa round with confidence and determination.

As the team returns to one of motorsport’s most revered circuits, all eyes will be on whether they can extend their remarkable Spa streak and secure yet another podium finish in one of endurance racing’s toughest arenas.
