Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has strengthened the country’s position as a regional automotive service centre with the opening of Southeast Asia’s first and only Mercedes-AMG ONE Service Hub at Hap Seng Star Bukit Tinggi. Backed by an investment of RM2.2 million, the specialised facility is designed to support one of the world’s most exclusive hypercars, bringing Formula 1-derived engineering expertise closer to owners across the region.
The new hub joins a select international network of Mercedes-AMG ONE service facilities in Germany, Switzerland, the Middle East and Japan. Working alongside the existing Japanese facility, Malaysia’s hub will provide specialised aftersales support to customers throughout Southeast Asia and the wider Asia-Pacific region. The establishment of the facility also reflects Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s continued investment in advanced technical capabilities, specialised personnel and aftersales infrastructure, extending its role beyond vehicle sales into the maintenance of highly complex, high-performance machinery.
“The Mercedes-AMG ONE is the ultimate expression of Formula 1 technology brought to the road. Such extraordinary engineering demands an equally specialised service ecosystem,” said Martin Schulz, CEO and President of Mercedes-Benz Cars Malaysia and Head of Region for Mercedes-Benz Cars Southeast Asia. He added that Malaysia’s established regional operations and technical expertise made it a strategic location for the new hub, reinforcing the company’s confidence in the country’s capabilities and its commitment to supporting owners across the Asia-Pacific region.
Servicing the Mercedes-AMG ONE is no ordinary workshop assignment. Limited to just 275 units worldwide, the hypercar brings Formula 1-inspired hybrid technology to public roads, requiring a level of technical expertise and equipment well beyond conventional automotive servicing. At its heart is an E PERFORMANCE hybrid powertrain comprising a 1.6-litre V6 turbocharged engine and four electric motors. The system produces a combined output of more than 1,063 hp, while the combustion engine can rev up to 11,000 rpm.
Such engineering complexity means that maintaining the vehicle requires more than routine mechanical knowledge. The service hub has therefore been purpose-built around the Mercedes-AMG ONE’s specific requirements, with specialised high-voltage tools, dedicated diagnostic equipment, controlled vehicle storage and working conditions, and direct technical coordination with Mercedes-AMG specialists in Affalterbach, Germany.
The facility is also staffed by Malaysia-based technicians who have completed specialised training and obtained Mercedes-AMG certification. They are qualified to carry out approved diagnostic, maintenance and servicing procedures, helping preserve the hypercar’s performance, safety and engineering integrity. For owners, the facility provides access to dedicated technical support without having to rely solely on service infrastructure outside the region.
“Our responsibility goes beyond maintaining an exceptional vehicle. It is about preserving an automotive legend and supporting its owners for years to come,” said Edmin Naidoo, Vice President of Customer Services and Network Development at Mercedes-Benz Malaysia and Southeast Asia. He explained that every service procedure is tailored to the Mercedes-AMG ONE’s unique engineering and the manufacturer’s exacting requirements, supported by dedicated infrastructure and specially trained personnel.
The appointment of Hap Seng Star Bukit Tinggi as the location for the new hub highlights the importance of certified technical capabilities and a specialised workforce in maintaining vehicles at the highest end of the automotive market.
Lee Weng Yew, Chief Executive of the Automotive Division at Hap Seng Consolidated, said the company was honoured to host the facility, describing the appointment as a reflection of the confidence placed in its technical capabilities, team readiness and longstanding partnership with Mercedes-Benz Malaysia.
The company aims to provide Mercedes-AMG ONE owners from Malaysia and other markets with a personalised and seamless service experience suited to the vehicle’s exclusive status. Beyond the prestige associated with the appointment, the facility also establishes a dedicated regional resource for a vehicle whose maintenance requirements are as specialised as its performance credentials.
Malaysia’s geographical position and established connectivity by road, sea and air were key considerations in establishing the new service hub. These advantages enable the coordinated movement of vehicles, replacement parts, specialist tools and technical resources across regional markets.
The facility also benefits from its proximity to the Mercedes-Benz Parts Logistics Asia Pacific hub in Malaysia. This connection is intended to improve inventory management and parts distribution, helping reduce delays associated with replacement components and routine maintenance requirements.
The hub’s regional support capabilities extend beyond its physical workshop. These include in-country technical “Flying Doctors”, providing on-ground specialists for initial technical assistance across the region, as well as dedicated liaison officers to facilitate communication with international customers.
An integrated digital service ecosystem will also support transparent diagnostic reporting and more responsive customer communication, giving owners greater visibility throughout the servicing process. Together, these capabilities are intended to create a more coordinated aftersales experience, particularly for customers whose vehicles require highly specialised attention.
The investment also aligns with the broader objectives of the Thirteenth Malaysia Plan (2026–2030), which places emphasis on developing high-value services and strengthening the country’s regional competitiveness. The Mercedes-AMG ONE Service Hub demonstrates how specialised automotive expertise, technical infrastructure and logistics capabilities can contribute to that ambition. Rather than serving only the domestic market, the facility is positioned to support a wider network of owners across Southeast Asia and the Asia-Pacific region.
With the new hub operational at Hap Seng Star Bukit Tinggi, Malaysia takes on a more specialised role within Mercedes-Benz’s international aftersales network. For a hypercar that translates Formula 1 hybrid technology into a road-legal package, having dedicated servicing expertise within the region represents an important addition to the ownership experience. The RM2.2 million facility is therefore more than a workshop for an ultra-exclusive performance car. It is also a demonstration of Malaysia’s growing ability to support complex, high-value automotive technologies and deliver specialised services to customers beyond its own borders.
