OMODA & JAECOO Malaysia has officially opened bookings for the all-new OMODA C7 and OMODA C7 PHEV, expanding its premium crossover portfolio with two powertrain options aimed at Malaysian buyers seeking a combination of striking design, advanced technology and everyday practicality.
The move marks the next phase of OMODA’s product expansion in Malaysia, with both models set to make their public appearance ahead of their official market launch.
According to OMODA & JAECOO Malaysia Head Chris Tan, the OMODA C7 represents the brand’s latest interpretation of its product philosophy, bringing together expressive styling, intelligent technology and practicality in a more premium package.
The conventional OMODA C7 is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). It is currently estimated to be priced at around RM160,000.
For buyers looking for an electrified alternative, the OMODA C7 PHEV combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with OMODA’s latest-generation Super Hybrid System (SHS) and a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT). The plug-in hybrid variant is estimated to cost approximately RM180,000.
Both prices are indicative and remain subject to confirmation when the models officially launch in Malaysia.
Developed around OMODA’s “Art in Motion” design philosophy, the C7 takes a distinctive approach to contemporary SUV design.
Its exterior features sculpted body surfaces, aerodynamic proportions and the brand’s signature shark-nose front end. These elements are complemented by sleek full-LED lighting and an illuminated hexagonal lighting motif, giving the C7 a futuristic appearance.
Inside, the C7 focuses on combining technology with comfort. The cabin features a 15.6-inch 2.5K central display alongside an 8.88-inch digital instrument cluster.
Other premium equipment includes electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats, double-glazed front windows and a ventilated 50W wireless charging system.
Practicality has also been given considerable attention, with the C7 offering a claimed 614-litre luggage compartment. Folding the rear seats increases available cargo capacity to 1,371 litres, making it suitable for everything from daily commuting and family duties to longer road trips.
The SUV is further equipped with a comprehensive suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), together with intelligent connectivity features designed to enhance both convenience and safety.
The introduction of the C7 PHEV alongside the petrol-powered C7 gives OMODA & JAECOO Malaysia a broader proposition in the competitive C-segment crossover market.
While the standard C7 is positioned for customers who prefer a conventional turbocharged petrol powertrain, the PHEV introduces the flexibility of plug-in hybrid technology through OMODA’s Super Hybrid System.
This allows the brand to cater to buyers with different priorities as Malaysia’s electrified vehicle market continues to expand.
Malaysians will have the opportunity to see both versions of the OMODA C7 ahead of their official launch during an exclusive showcase at Suria KLCC from 7 to 9 August 2026.
The vehicles will be displayed daily from 10.00am to 10.00pm at two locations within the shopping centre: the Concourse Level next to Uniqlo and the Ground Level next to Louis Vuitton.
Visitors can inspect the C7 and C7 PHEV, speak with product specialists, register their interest and place bookings ahead of the official launch.
The showcase is being held alongside Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2026, reflecting OMODA’s positioning of the C7 at the intersection of automotive design, technology and contemporary lifestyle.
With bookings now open and public previews underway, the OMODA C7 and C7 PHEV are set to become important additions to the brand’s Malaysian line-up, offering buyers a choice between turbocharged petrol and plug-in hybrid power at estimated prices of RM160,000 and RM180,000 respectively.
