Global mobility and urban services platform inDrive has recognised its top-performing driver-partners at the Platinum Driver League 2026, an annual initiative aimed at celebrating driver achievements while reinforcing the company’s broader commitment to building a more equitable and sustainable ride-hailing ecosystem in Malaysia.

Held as both an award ceremony and industry update session, the event brought together driver-partners and company representatives to honour those who have played a key role in keeping mobility services running smoothly across the country. It also served as a platform for inDrive Malaysia to share its latest performance milestones and outline priorities for the year ahead.

In May 2026, inDrive Malaysia recorded more than 1.2 million completed rides, marking its highest monthly ride volume to date. The company also reported steady expansion across key operational indicators. Compared with January 2026, completed rides grew by 8.7%, active driver-partners increased by 10.2%, and passenger numbers rose by 1.9%.

Month-on-month data further reflected continued momentum, with active drivers rising by 5.5% in May compared to April, while passenger numbers increased by 1.1% over the same period. These figures highlight consistent demand growth alongside a strengthening driver base in Malaysia’s competitive ride-hailing market.

A major operational milestone was also achieved with the successful renewal of inDrive Malaysia’s ride-hailing licence, allowing the platform to continue operations in the country through 2028. This renewal reinforces the company’s long-term commitment to the Malaysian market and its growing gig economy sector.

As competition intensifies across Asia-Pacific’s ride-hailing landscape, platforms are increasingly differentiating themselves through service quality, driver availability, safety standards, and operational efficiency. In response, inDrive Malaysia has placed stronger emphasis on initiatives that support driver-partners beyond just trip earnings.

A key example of this approach was the limited-time 1% commission campaign held in Klang Valley from April to May 2026. The initiative allowed drivers to retain a larger share of their income, aligning with inDrive’s stated goal of improving earning sustainability and reducing operational pressure for its driver community.

According to Azlan Anwar, Driver Operations Manager at inDrive Malaysia, the platform’s growth is closely tied to the contributions of its drivers.

“Our growth in Malaysia is only possible because of the driver-partners who keep communities moving every day,” he said. “As the cost of driving continues to rise, we believe platforms have a role in helping drivers manage expenses, earn more sustainably, and feel valued for their work. The Platinum Driver League is one way we recognise their contributions.”

Following a successful debut edition, the Platinum Driver League returned from 27 April to 31 May 2026 with expanded participation across Klang Valley, Johor Bahru, and Penang. The programme offered more than RM100,000 in total rewards for eligible drivers, including weekly prizes such as smartphones, tablets, dashcams, and fuel vouchers.

The grand prize lineup featured a Perodua Bezza 1.3 Advance 2026 and a Yamaha NVX motorcycle, drawing strong engagement from driver-partners nationwide.

This year’s top performer completed an impressive 1,347 rides during the one-month campaign period, emerging as the leading driver among thousands of participants. Overall engagement also rose significantly, with the campaign recording an average 8.7% increase in completed rides throughout its duration.

The Platinum Driver League reflects inDrive Malaysia’s broader strategy of fostering a fair, inclusive, and sustainable mobility ecosystem. By recognising high-performing drivers while also introducing initiatives that improve earnings stability, the company aims to strengthen long-term engagement within its driver community.

As Malaysia’s gig economy continues to evolve, inDrive’s approach signals a focus on balancing growth with sustainability—ensuring that both drivers and passengers benefit from a more efficient and supportive ride-hailing environment.
