Global mobility and urban services platform inDrive has honoured its top-performing driver-partners through the Platinum Driver League 2026, reaffirming its commitment to creating a fairer and more sustainable ride-hailing ecosystem in Malaysia.
The Platinum Driver League 2026 award presentation ceremony brought together driver-partners and company leaders to celebrate the individuals who play a vital role in keeping communities connected through reliable mobility services. The event also served as a platform for inDrive Malaysia to share updates on its growth trajectory and strategic priorities moving forward.
The company reported positive growth across several key metrics in 2026. Compared with January, completed rides increased by 8.7%, while the number of active driver-partners grew by 10.2%. Passenger numbers also recorded a 1.9% increase during the same period. On a month-on-month basis, active drivers rose by 5.5% in May compared with April, while passenger numbers increased by 1.1%.
Further strengthening its position in the Malaysian market, inDrive announced the successful renewal of its ride-hailing operations licence, enabling the platform to continue serving Malaysians through 2028.
As competition within the Asia-Pacific ride-hailing sector continues to intensify, platforms are increasingly focused on service quality, safety, driver availability and operational efficiency. In response, inDrive Malaysia has expanded its efforts to support driver-partners beyond traditional earnings opportunities. The company aims to help drivers better manage operating expenses while maintaining accessible and dependable transport services for passengers.
One of the key initiatives introduced this year was the limited-time 1% commission campaign in Klang Valley, which ran from April to May 2026. The campaign allowed driver-partners to retain a larger portion of their earnings, reflecting inDrive’s ongoing commitment to promoting fairer income opportunities within the gig economy.
According to Azlan Anwar, Driver Operations Manager at inDrive Malaysia, driver-partners remain at the heart of the company’s success.
“Our growth in Malaysia is only possible because of the driver-partners who keep communities moving every day,” he said. “As the cost of driving continues to rise, we believe platforms have a role to play in helping drivers manage their expenses, earn more sustainably and feel valued for the work they do. The Platinum Driver League is one way we recognise their contributions.”
The Platinum Driver League returned for its second edition after a successful debut last year. Running from 27 April to 31 May 2026, the programme offered prizes worth more than RM100,000 to eligible driver-partners across Klang Valley, Johor Bahru and Penang.
Participants competed for weekly rewards including smartphones, tablets, dashcams and fuel vouchers, while the grand prizes featured a Perodua Bezza 1.3 Advance 2026 and a Yamaha NVX motorcycle.
This year’s champion distinguished himself by completing an impressive 1,347 rides during the month-long campaign, outperforming thousands of active Platinum drivers nationwide. The initiative also delivered strong engagement, with participants collectively contributing to an average 8.7% increase in completed rides throughout the challenge period.
Through programmes such as the Platinum Driver League, inDrive continues to recognise the essential role of driver-partners while fostering a more inclusive and sustainable mobility ecosystem. As Malaysia’s gig economy evolves, the company remains focused on initiatives that strengthen driver engagement, support sustainable growth and create lasting value for both drivers and passengers.
