JETOUR has demonstrated how technology can make off-road driving more accessible and comfortable during its 2026 Global Technology Experience Day, held on 21 October in Moganshan, Zhejiang, China. The event featured a wilderness test drive involving models from the JETOUR T Series and G Series, which tackled a variety of challenging conditions, including water crossings, cross-axle sections and crested ramps.
The demonstrations highlighted the brand’s approach to combining all-terrain capability with easier vehicle control and enhanced passenger comfort. Rather than focusing solely on conquering difficult terrain, JETOUR’s latest technologies aim to make outdoor exploration more convenient for a wider range of drivers, while maintaining the comfort expected of modern passenger vehicles.
Driving off-road can be intimidating for those without extensive experience, particularly when navigating changing surfaces that require frequent adjustments to driving modes, power delivery and differential locks. JETOUR’s XWD intelligent four-wheel-drive system is designed to reduce these complexities by using algorithms to manage vehicle responses according to changing terrain and available wheel grip.
During the Moganshan test drive, T Series models navigated water crossings, a water-fording bridge and cross-axle sections. As traction conditions changed, the system adjusted power distribution to help maintain grip, while an electronic jaw-type differential lock provided additional assistance when wheels encountered reduced traction. Drivers can select from seven preset driving modes: Eco, Standard, Sport, Snow, Mud, Sand and Rock.
For those who prefer a more straightforward approach, the one-touch X intelligent off-road mode offers an alternative to manually selecting settings for different surfaces. By automating aspects of traction management and power distribution, XWD aims to reduce the need for constant driver intervention. This allows drivers to concentrate more on steering and navigating obstacles, making demanding off-road conditions easier to manage.
While XWD focuses on simplifying vehicle control, JETOUR’s GAIA architecture takes a broader approach by integrating powertrain performance, chassis technology and cabin amenities into a more comprehensive travel experience. The JETOUR G700, equipped with a GAIA super hybrid powertrain, is designed to handle a range of driving conditions.
Its chassis combines CDC intelligent suspension with air suspension, allowing damping characteristics and ride height to be adjusted according to the road surface and driving requirements. These systems are intended to help the vehicle manage uneven roads and potholes while balancing off-road capability with ride comfort. The approach reflects the growing expectation that adventure-oriented vehicles should remain comfortable beyond the trail, particularly during longer journeys involving a mixture of road conditions.
Inside, the G700 features a four-screen interactive smart cockpit, multifunction seats, a high-quality audio system and other cabin amenities designed to enhance the passenger experience. Together, the powertrain, suspension and interior technologies position the G700 as a vehicle intended to accommodate both demanding outdoor excursions and more relaxed journeys, bringing off-road functionality and premium comfort into a single package.
The demonstrations in Moganshan reflect JETOUR’s broader Travel+ strategy, which focuses on developing vehicles and technologies around different travel scenarios and customer needs. Intelligent four-wheel-drive systems can help make challenging terrain more manageable, while integrated powertrain and chassis technologies seek to balance capability with everyday comfort. Meanwhile, cabin features play an increasingly important role in ensuring that the journey itself remains enjoyable, rather than making the destination the sole focus.
As expectations for SUVs and adventure-oriented vehicles continue to evolve, JETOUR is looking to combine these elements to support a wider range of driving experiences. The company says it will continue developing its technologies and products around the mobility needs of customers in global markets, with the aim of making off-road capability more accessible and expanding the possibilities for travel.
