IPONE SHOGUN 0W-30-powered riders are enjoying a strong 2026 Malaysian Cub Prix season, with consistent podium finishes and a breakthrough one-two result highlighting their progress in the competitive CP125 category. The latest highlight came at Round 7, held at Sepang International Circuit (South) on 17–18 October, where YY Pang Racing Team riders Khairi Asyraf and Raiyan Khardanee finished first and second respectively. The result marked Khairi’s maiden P1 finish in the category and the first time the team had placed both riders on the podium in the same race.
The achievement also continued a promising run for the team, following Raiyan’s own breakthrough victory at Round 6. Together, the results underline the riders’ growing competitiveness as the season approaches its final round. Khairi had already demonstrated his potential earlier in the campaign, securing third place at Round 4. Meanwhile, AHM rider Arash Tsunami made a strong start to the season, finishing third in Round 1 before following it up with second place in Round 2.
According to IPONE Malaysia, its SHOGUN-powered riders have collected six podium finishes across the first seven rounds, with the Round 7 one-two finish serving as a major milestone for the teams involved. “Six podium finishes across the first seven rounds, followed by a P1–P2 finish at Round 7 — a remarkable achievement driven by the hard work, determination and commitment of both YY Pang Racing Team and AHM,” said Ravi Shankar, Country General Manager of IPONE Malaysia.
“Behind every result is a team effort, from the riders pushing their limits to the engineers and mechanics working tirelessly behind the scenes. We’re proud to support their journey with IPONE SHOGUN and remain committed to nurturing young talent and advancing motorcycle racing in Malaysia.”
Beyond the podium celebrations, IPONE SHOGUN has also undergone technical evaluations with YY Pang Racing Team, with testing covering dynamometer measurements, track sessions and actual race conditions. Gary Pang, Team Coordinator at YY Pang Racing Team, said the team evaluated both SHOGUN 0W-30 and 10W-30 viscosity grades on the dynamometer. According to the team’s findings, the lubricants delivered maximum horsepower and torque figures among the highest recorded in its comparisons with oils tested previously.
The evaluation continued on the track, where the team monitored engine behaviour and temperatures under sustained high-rpm operation. “After more than 20 laps at high rpm, both engine and oil temperatures remained stable. Most importantly, the engine continued to perform well, with no damage observed,” Gary said.
The team’s assessment provides additional insight into its experience with the SHOGUN range, combining controlled dynamometer measurements with observations from track and race use. While racing results depend on numerous factors, including rider ability, machine setup and team preparation, lubricant testing forms part of the wider process of assessing engine performance under demanding conditions. For IPONE, the combination of technical evaluation and competitive results offers an opportunity to demonstrate its involvement in Malaysia’s motorcycle racing scene, both in the workshop and on the circuit.
With Round 7 delivering YY Pang Racing Team’s standout result, attention now turns to the final round of the 2026 Malaysian Cub Prix season. Round 8 is scheduled for 21–22 November at Medini Iskandar, Iskandar Puteri, where riders will have one final opportunity to end the campaign on a high note.
For the SHOGUN-supported teams, the challenge will be to carry their recent momentum into the season finale and add to their podium tally.
