Autoguard Group Asia-Pacific (APAC) has strengthened its presence in the regional electric vehicle (EV) market after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indonesian Electric Vehicle Industry Association (PERIKLINDO), paving the way for the company to become the association’s preferred EV warranty provider. The agreement was formalised during a signing ceremony at the PERIKLINDO Electric Vehicle Conference (PEVC) 2026, held at the Mövenpick Hotel Jakarta City Centre. The partnership is expected to support the development of dedicated EV warranty solutions as Indonesia’s electric mobility sector continues to expand.
Through this collaboration, Autoguard aims to strengthen its position as an aftersales partner for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), vehicle importers and other players within the automotive industry. Its warranty solutions are intended to provide additional support for the growing number of businesses navigating the transition towards electrification. The partnership also reflects Autoguard’s broader ambitions in the Asia-Pacific region. With its regional headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, the company is looking to expand its reach across key markets while strengthening its ability to support automotive businesses and end-users.
Earlier this year, Autoguard established its first dedicated APAC office, marking another step in its regional expansion strategy. Its focus includes improving service delivery for vehicle owners while creating additional revenue opportunities for dealer networks through extended warranty programmes.
Jamie Francis Morais, Business Development Director of Autoguard Group APAC, said the agreement with PERIKLINDO demonstrates the company’s commitment to supporting the region’s expanding EV industry. He added that working with an established industry association would help Autoguard develop dedicated warranty solutions suited to the changing needs of the electric vehicle market.
Morais also highlighted the company’s recent investments in technology, particularly in streamlining claims processing, alongside its experience in delivering warranty solutions across different markets. These capabilities, he said, would help the company contribute greater value to the automotive aftersales sector as EV adoption accelerates.
The MoU signing took place as part of PEVC 2026, an international electric vehicle industry conference organised by PERIKLINDO in collaboration with Gemalindo. Held in Jakarta for the first time as the event’s network of strategic partners continues to grow, the conference welcomed approximately 500 industry representatives. Attendees included policymakers, corporate leaders, venture capitalists and international delegates from China, Taiwan, South Korea and other key markets.
Under the theme “The Future of a Clean and Efficient Mobility,” PEVC 2026 served as a platform for discussions on the development of sustainable transportation, emerging EV technologies and opportunities within the global electric vehicle supply chain. The conference also aimed to strengthen Indonesia’s position in the international EV industry while encouraging greater collaboration and business partnerships across the mobility value chain.
