Zeekr Malaysia is taking its growing owner community beyond the road and onto the golf course, hosting its inaugural Zeekr Cup Elite Golf Championship Malaysia as it celebrates a major milestone of 5,000 cumulative owners. Bringing together Zeekr owners from Malaysia and China, business partners and invited guests, the event offered a blend of competitive golf, lifestyle activities and plenty of opportunities for the brand’s community to connect.

The centrepiece was an 18-hole golf tournament, with one particularly tempting prize waiting for anyone capable of producing the perfect shot — a Zeekr 009 for a hole-in-one. But there was more to the event than chasing birdies and a rather impressive prize. Guests could also take part in lifestyle workshops, family-friendly activities and exclusive Zeekr test drives, giving the championship a more relaxed, social atmosphere beyond the competition itself.

For Zeekr Malaysia, the event represents the next stage of its journey after reaching the 5,000-owner milestone. “Reaching 5,000 owners was an important milestone for Zeekr Malaysia, but we see it as the beginning of the next chapter — building a community around the brand,” said Eddy Lu, General Manager of Zeekr Intelligent Technology Malaysia. “The Zeekr Cup Elite Golf Championship Malaysia is an example of how we bring owners together through shared interests, while extending the ownership experience beyond the vehicle itself.”

The championship also builds on Zeekr Malaysia’s growing presence within the local golfing scene, following its sponsorship of the Tropicana Golf Club 32nd Anniversary Cup. Rather than simply putting its name on sporting events, Zeekr is looking to make golf a platform for bringing its owners together — whether they are seasoned players, casual golfers, families or newcomers simply looking to experience the brand. That approach reflects Zeekr’s broader interpretation of premium ownership, where the experience extends beyond the car parked in the driveway.

One of the more interesting aspects of the inaugural championship was its international flavour, with Zeekr owners from both Malaysia and China taking part. The gathering gave owners from the two markets a chance to swap stories, share experiences and discover common ground through their enthusiasm for both golf and Zeekr.

As the brand continues its global expansion, Zeekr Malaysia sees events like this as an early step towards creating stronger connections between owner communities across different markets. The company says it has a long-term vision of developing golf into a platform for owner engagement and eventually building a connected international Zeekr Golf Community.
