Leapmotor is taking another significant step forward in Malaysia, with the C10 and B10 electric SUVs now being locally assembled at Stellantis’ Gurun plant in Kedah. The move marks an important milestone for both Leapmotor and Stellantis, reinforcing their ambitions to build a stronger local EV ecosystem while making more advanced electric vehicles accessible to Malaysian buyers.

Stellantis has invested EUR 5.3 million into developing local production capabilities, including upgrades to the production line and supporting infrastructure at the Gurun facility. The locally assembled vehicles are also produced under a unified global compliance framework shared by Leapmotor and Stellantis, ensuring that Malaysian-built models maintain the required manufacturing standards.

The Leapmotor C10 remains the larger and more family-oriented offering of the two, but its local assembly comes with a few fresh touches. For starters, Malaysian customers can now choose from four exterior colours: the new Violet and Lightning White, alongside Canopy Grey and Glazed Green. The interior also continues Leapmotor’s focus on occupant comfort, featuring OEKO-TEX® Standard 100-certified, baby-friendly silicone textile.

Customers opting for Glazed Green get a Camel Brown interior, while the other exterior colours are paired with a Black cabin. Underneath, the C10 is powered by a 69.9 kWh battery feeding a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor producing 218 hp and 320 Nm. It offers a claimed driving range of up to 424 km under the WLTP cycle.

Joining the C10 is the Leapmotor B10, positioned as the brand’s global strategic C-segment electric SUV and built around Leapmotor’s LEAP3.5 architecture. For Malaysia, the B10 is offered in a single DESIGN variant, equipped with a 67.1 kWh battery and capable of travelling up to 434 km on a full charge according to WLTP.

Its colour palette includes Starry Night Blue, Tundra Grey, Metallic Black and Light White, all matched with a Dark Grey interior. Like the C10, the B10’s cabin uses OEKO-TEX® Standard 100-certified upholstery, giving the interior a more premium and technology-focused character.

While modern EVs increasingly rely on smartphone apps and keyless technology, Leapmotor is giving customers another option. The company is introducing an optional physical Remote Key Fob for both the C10 and B10. Better still, the accessory is available not only for newly registered vehicles but also for existing owners across Malaysia. It’s a small addition, but one that should appeal to drivers who prefer having an actual key rather than relying entirely on their phone.

The Malaysian expansion comes as Leapmotor continues to build serious momentum internationally. In August 2026, the company delivered a record 103,129 vehicles globally, finally breaking through the 100,000-unit monthly milestone after setting its previous record in July.

August also represented Leapmotor’s fifth consecutive month of record deliveries, with volumes up 80.72% year-on-year. For the first eight months of 2026, Leapmotor delivered 560,883 vehicles worldwide, representing a 70.55% increase year-on-year. The company says these results place it among the top four global passenger NEV brands and top three Chinese brands, highlighting just how quickly Leapmotor has been expanding beyond its home market.

With local assembly now underway, the Leapmotor C10 is priced at RM125,000, while the B10 starts at RM118,800. Both models come with an 8-year or 160,000 km battery warranty, whichever comes first.

With local production now joining its growing global momentum, Leapmotor is clearly looking to make its presence in Malaysia about more than simply selling EVs. The C10 and B10 represent another step towards establishing a stronger local manufacturing footprint while giving Malaysian buyers more choice in the increasingly competitive electric SUV market. Both models are available through authorised Leapmotor dealers nationwide, with customers able to arrange test drives before making the switch to electric.
