Zeekr Malaysia has officially expanded into East Malaysia with the opening of its first retail presence in the region, the Zeekr Kuching Pop-Up Store at The Spring Kuching. The new pop-up store marks another step in Zeekr’s nationwide expansion, bringing the brand’s range of premium electric vehicles closer to customers in Sarawak.

The expansion is being carried out in partnership with Ghee Hua Group of Companies, which signed a dealer agreement with Zeekr in July 2026 at the brand’s headquarters in Hangzhou, China. With its established experience in the automotive and mobility sector, Ghee Hua will work alongside Zeekr Malaysia to strengthen the brand’s presence in Sarawak and support the growing interest in premium electric mobility across East Malaysia.

Zeekr first entered the Malaysian market in December 2024 and has since surpassed 5,000 owners nationwide as of August 2026. The brand says interest from Sarawak has also been growing, with some customers choosing Zeekr even before the company established an official retail presence in the state.

“Opening our first retail presence in East Malaysia marks an important milestone for Zeekr Malaysia as we continue expanding our footprint nationwide. Sarawak is a strategically important market with growing interest in premium electric mobility, and this new presence allows customers to experience our products and services more directly,” said Eddy Lu, General Manager of Zeekr Intelligent Technology Malaysia. “Together with Ghee Hua, we look forward to building long-term relationships with customers and supporting the growth of EV adoption in the region.”

Located within The Spring Kuching, the new pop-up store gives visitors the opportunity to get up close with Zeekr’s current model range, including the Zeekr 7X, Zeekr 009 and Zeekr X. Beyond displaying the vehicles, the facility is intended to give potential customers a better understanding of Zeekr’s approach to premium electric mobility, covering areas such as technology, performance, comfort, safety and connectivity.

The opening ceremony was attended by YB Datuk Amar Professor Dr. Sim Kui Hian, Deputy Premier of Sarawak and Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government, as well as YB Dato Wee Hong Seng, Mayor of Kuching South City Council (MBKS). Business partners, customers and invited guests also joined the event, which included a special drive-off ceremony for new Zeekr owners in Sarawak.

The ceremony provided an opportunity for Zeekr to recognise its early customers in the state and mark the beginning of their ownership journey as the brand establishes its first physical retail presence in East Malaysia.

With interest in premium EVs growing in Sarawak, Zeekr says customers are increasingly considering more than just the vehicle itself. Technology, performance, comfort, safety, connectivity and the overall ownership experience are becoming increasingly important factors. As a result, Zeekr Malaysia and Ghee Hua are focusing on providing customers with hands-on product experiences, professional sales support and improved access to aftersales services. The Kuching pop-up store is only the beginning of Zeekr’s plans for the region.

The company is targeting the opening of a dedicated Zeekr Space Kuching, its 1S Centre, together with a Zeekr Service Centre Kuching in the first quarter of 2027. Once operational, these facilities are expected to provide customers with more comprehensive sales and aftersales support under one network.

In the meantime, Zeekr has already introduced its Mobile Service programme across East Malaysia. The initiative brings essential maintenance and vehicle inspection services closer to customers, helping support existing owners while the brand continues to develop its permanent retail and service infrastructure.
