UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) has continued its strong momentum in 2026, recording more than 7,300 vehicle sales in June alone. The latest performance brings the company’s second-quarter (Q2) 2026 sales total to over 20,800 units, while year-to-date (YTD) sales have surpassed 36,200 units.

The positive results highlight continued customer confidence in Toyota’s extensive model range, with demand supported by the brand’s expanding electrified vehicle portfolio, enhanced ownership initiatives and ongoing efforts to provide mobility solutions suited to the changing needs of Malaysian drivers.

Throughout Q2 2026, UMWT continued to advance Toyota’s Multi-Pathway Electrification Strategy, offering customers a wider selection of powertrain options as the automotive industry transitions towards lower-carbon mobility. Rather than focusing on a single technology, Toyota’s approach provides customers with different electrification solutions based on their driving requirements, infrastructure readiness and lifestyle needs.

The company’s electrified portfolio has grown with the introduction of Toyota’s Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) offerings, including the Toyota bZ4X, Urban Cruiser BEV and Hilux BEV. These models complement Toyota’s existing hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) range, while the introduction of the all-new Toyota Yaris Cross in both internal combustion engine (ICE) and hybrid variants further strengthens the brand’s appeal across different customer segments.

According to UMW Toyota Motor President Datuk Ravindran K., the company’s Q2 performance reflects sustained trust in Toyota’s products and its commitment to delivering meaningful mobility solutions.

“Our commitment goes beyond introducing new products. We are focused on building an ecosystem that gives customers greater choice, confidence and convenience throughout their ownership journey. By combining our Multi-Pathway approach with innovations that showcase the future of mobility and initiatives that strengthen everyday ownership, we continue to deliver solutions that are meaningful, dependable and relevant for Malaysians,” he said.

Beyond expanding its vehicle line-up, UMWT has also continued to enhance the overall ownership experience through Toyota Extra Mile, a customer-focused programme designed to provide additional value throughout the ownership journey.

The programme is built around six key pillars — Extra Rewards, Extra Protection, Extra Convenience, Extra Peace of Mind, Extra Security and Extra Care. These initiatives combine benefits such as customer rewards, vehicle protection solutions, improved service accessibility, added ownership assurance, security support and aftersales care.

Through a combination of diverse vehicle choices, electrification initiatives and customer-focused services, UMW Toyota Motor aims to strengthen Toyota’s position in Malaysia’s evolving automotive landscape while continuing to provide reliable and practical mobility solutions for customers nationwide.
