Naza Eastern Motors has officially ushered Suzuki into Malaysia’s electric vehicle market with the debut of the all-new Suzuki e VITARA, the brand’s first fully electric production vehicle. The launch marks a significant milestone for both Suzuki and Naza Eastern Motors as they embrace the growing shift towards sustainable mobility solutions.
Designed around Suzuki’s “Emotional Versatile Cruiser” philosophy, the e VITARA combines modern electric vehicle technology with the practicality, capability and adventurous character that have long defined the Vitara nameplate. Built on the newly developed HEARTECT-e platform, the electric SUV represents Suzuki’s vision for future mobility while maintaining its reputation for reliability and everyday usability.
Powering the e VITARA is Suzuki’s latest eAxle electric drive system, integrating the motor, inverter and reduction gear into a compact package. The front-wheel-drive SUV is equipped with a 61kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and an electric motor producing 128kW and 193Nm of torque. This setup delivers a driving range of up to 426km on a single charge, offering practicality for both daily commuting and longer journeys.
The Suzuki e VITARA is available in Malaysia with an introductory price of RM188,000 (on-the-road, excluding insurance). Buyers can choose from five exterior finishes: Celestial Blue Pearl Metallic, Bluish Black Pearl, Land Breeze Green Pearl Metallic with Bluish Black Pearl roof, Splendid Silver Pearl Metallic with Bluish Black Pearl roof, and Grandeur Grey Pearl Metallic with Bluish Black Pearl roof.
To support customers making the switch to electric mobility, Suzuki is offering an extensive warranty package. This includes a five-year unlimited mileage vehicle warranty, a five-year or 100,000km warranty covering BEV components, and an eight-year or 160,000km battery warranty.
Customers will also benefit from Naza Eastern Motors’ nationwide support network, which currently consists of 14 sales outlets and 13 service centres across Malaysia. Additionally, the first 10 purchasers of the e VITARA will enjoy five years of complimentary EV charging at selected dealerships, subject to terms and conditions.
Alongside the electric SUV launch, Naza Eastern Motors announced an upgraded five-year unlimited mileage warranty programme for selected Suzuki models, including the Jimny AllGrip Pro, Jimny Rhino Pro, Fronx and Fronx Sport. The enhanced package replaces the previous three-year or 100,000km coverage, providing greater peace of mind for Suzuki owners.
Speaking at the launch, Naza Automotive Group Chief Executive Officer Mohd Rizal Jailan described the arrival of the e VITARA as a major step forward for the brand.
He noted that the vehicle demonstrates Suzuki’s commitment to delivering practical and accessible electric mobility solutions while preserving the reliability, styling and driving enjoyment that customers expect. He also highlighted the model’s role in supporting Malaysia’s transition towards a greener automotive landscape.
The e VITARA adopts Suzuki’s High-Tech & Adventure design language, drawing inspiration from the concept of a “Metal Beast.” Its bold styling features muscular wheel arches, large 18-inch alloy wheels and a distinctive front fascia highlighted by a unique hexagonal grille design and signature three-point matrix lighting elements.
Measuring 4,275mm long, 1,800mm wide and 1,635mm tall, the compact SUV offers a spacious cabin thanks to its generous 2,700mm wheelbase. Despite its urban-friendly dimensions, the e VITARA provides up to 306 litres of cargo space, making it suitable for daily use and weekend adventures alike.
Inside, Suzuki introduces a new generation cabin design focused on digital connectivity and user convenience. The interior blends premium materials such as Melange jersey upholstery, synthetic leather surfaces and piano black accents with textured geometric design elements, creating a modern yet rugged atmosphere.
A standout feature is the Integrated Display System, which combines the digital instrument cluster and infotainment screen into a seamless interface. The system provides easy access to vehicle information, climate controls and connectivity functions.
Additional interior features include a two-spoke squircle steering wheel, floating centre console with shift-by-wire controls, wireless smartphone charging, multiple USB ports, ambient-lit storage areas, rear armrest with cupholders and flexible seating configurations that maximise cargo versatility.
Charging convenience is another key strength of the e VITARA. Using DC fast charging, the battery can be replenished from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 45 minutes. Meanwhile, a 7kW AC charger can fully charge the battery from 10 to 100 percent in around nine hours.
Drivers can also tailor the vehicle’s performance through three selectable driving modes — ECO, NORMAL and SPORT — allowing the SUV to adapt to varying road conditions and driving preferences.
Safety remains a priority, with the e VITARA equipped with an extensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems. These include Dual Sensor Brake Support II, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Prevention, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Adaptive High Beam System and Multiple Collision Braking.
Further enhancing safety are Suzuki’s Total Effective Control Technology body structure, multiple SRS airbags and pedestrian injury mitigation features. A 360-degree camera system with bird’s-eye and eye-level views also helps improve visibility during parking and low-speed manoeuvres.
With only limited units available during the initial phase of introduction, Naza Eastern Motors is encouraging interested customers to register early and become among the first owners of Suzuki’s pioneering electric SUV in Malaysia.
The arrival of the e VITARA signals a new chapter for Suzuki in the local market, combining the brand’s heritage of practical motoring with the latest advancements in electric vehicle technology.
