Motul Malaysia has announced a major partnership with teenage racing sensation Sophia Zara Binti Mustaffa Kamal, supporting the young driver throughout her full 2026 motorsport campaign. The collaboration highlights Motul’s continued commitment to developing Malaysian motorsport talent while promoting greater diversity and opportunities within the racing community.

At just 17 years old, Sophia Zara has already established herself as one of Malaysia’s most promising motorsport prospects. In only two years of competitive racing, she has earned three Malaysia Book of Records recognitions, including accolades as the Youngest Female Racer, the Youngest Female Podium Finisher in an Endurance Race, and the Youngest Female Podium Finisher in a Sanctioned Touring Car Race. Her impressive achievements also saw her named a double finalist at the Malaysia Association of Motorsport Awards 2025.

Motul Malaysia General Manager Ravi Shankar described Sophia as a driver who embodies the values that define the global lubricants brand.

“Her talent, determination and ability to compete at a high level make her an ideal ambassador for Motul. Beyond her racing achievements, she serves as an inspiration for young women who aspire to enter motorsports,” he said.

For Sophia, the partnership represents a significant boost as she prepares for the most demanding season of her young career. She expressed gratitude for Motul’s confidence in her abilities, noting that the backing of a brand with such a rich motorsport heritage provides valuable motivation heading into a year packed with competition.

She also hopes the collaboration sends a strong message that motorsport is a space where women can thrive, and that meaningful support from industry leaders can help open doors for the next generation of female racers.

Throughout the season, Sophia’s race cars will be powered by Motul’s flagship 300V lubricant. First introduced in 1971 as the world’s first fully synthetic four-stroke engine oil, the 300V remains a benchmark in motorsport performance. Developed using Motul’s proprietary ESTER Core® technology, the lubricant is engineered to maximise engine output and reliability under the intense demands of competitive racing.

The product’s proven performance will be put to the test across a challenging calendar that includes sprint races, touring car events and endurance competitions.

Sophia’s 2026 schedule features participation in four major racing programmes. She will contest the full seasons of the Malaysia Touring Car Championship (MTCC) and Toyota Gazoo Racing Malaysia series, while also competing in selected rounds of the Malaysia Speed Festival. The season will culminate in one of the country’s toughest endurance events, the Sepang 1000KM Endurance Race in November.

The MTCC campaign includes four rounds between April and August, while the Toyota Gazoo Racing Malaysia series will see Sophia race across four events from April to October, including a high-profile round held alongside the Super GT championship. Additional appearances in the Malaysia Speed Festival during May and September will further strengthen her racing experience before she tackles the demanding Sepang 1000KM challenge.

With a comprehensive racing programme ahead and the backing of one of motorsport’s most recognised brands, Sophia Zara enters 2026 with momentum firmly on her side. For Motul Malaysia, the partnership represents more than sponsorship—it is an investment in the future of Malaysian motorsport and the development of a new generation of talent capable of competing on the international stage.

As Sophia continues her pursuit of greater success and works towards her long-term ambitions, including a potential future opportunity in the F1 Academy, the 2026 season could prove to be another significant chapter in her rapidly growing motorsport journey.
