Maserati has marked the 100th anniversary of its iconic Trident emblem with the unveiling of a highly exclusive one-off creation, the MCPURA Cielo Tributo 1926. Crafted through the brand’s bespoke Fuoriserie personalisation programme, the unique open-top supercar pays homage to Maserati’s racing heritage while celebrating the symbol that has defined the marque for a century.

The story begins on 25 April 1926, when Alfieri Maserati competed in the Targa Florio behind the wheel of the Tipo 26, the first Maserati race car to carry the Trident badge. A century later, that same vehicle and emblem have inspired a modern tribute that bridges the brand’s glorious past with its present-day craftsmanship and performance.
The special MCPURA Cielo Tributo 1926 was revealed and delivered to its owner at Maserati’s showroom in Modena during the passage of the 2026 Mille Miglia through the city. The occasion was particularly significant, linking the brand’s racing legacy with one of Italy’s most celebrated motoring events. Maserati’s connection to the Mille Miglia dates back to 1931, when the Tipo 26 C became the company’s first entrant in the race and secured a memorable class victory.
Drawing inspiration from the aesthetics of 1920s motorsport, the bespoke model features a Grigio Lamiera Matte exterior finish that reflects the raw appearance of early racing machines. Complementing the bodywork is a distinctive livery combining Rosso Capannelle, Blu Infinito and Bianco Pastello accents. At the centre of the bonnet sits a historically accurate recreation of the original Tipo 26 badge, creating a direct visual link between Maserati’s first racing car and this modern tribute.
The historic Trident logo is prominently displayed on the front fascia and B-pillars, accompanied by Fuoriserie branding in matching Bianco Pastello. Specially designed 20-inch Cyclonic wheels feature a diamond-cut finish with red detailing, while black brake calipers add a purposeful contrast. The tonneau cover further reinforces the celebratory theme with both the contemporary Trident and the original 1926 version designed by Mario Maserati. Additional commemorative touches include door badges bearing the signatures of Alfieri Maserati and his trusted mechanic, Guerino Bertocchi. Visible carbon-fibre elements from the Exterior Carbon Package complete the car’s performance-focused appearance.
Inside, the handcrafted cabin continues the tribute theme with Trident embroidery on the headrests and a carefully curated selection of Fuoriserie specifications. Heated seats, carbon-fibre interior trim and a premium 695-watt Sonus faber audio system with 12 speakers provide a luxurious environment that balances craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology. Practical features such as the Driver Assistance Pack and front axle lift system ensure the vehicle remains usable in everyday driving conditions.
The MCPURA Cielo Tributo 1926 exemplifies the possibilities offered through Maserati’s Fuoriserie programme, which enables customers to create highly personalised vehicles tailored to their individual preferences. As part of the wider BOTTEGAFUORISERIE initiative, the programme combines traditional craftsmanship, advanced technology and meticulous attention to detail to deliver truly unique automotive creations.
The unveiling of this one-off masterpiece forms part of Maserati’s ongoing “Year of the Trident” celebrations, honouring the emblem conceived by Mario Maserati in 1926. Inspired by Bologna’s Fountain of Neptune, the Trident has evolved from a racing symbol into one of the most recognisable badges in the automotive world, representing a century of performance, innovation and Italian excellence.
