The 2026 SKILLDRVN OMR Season 4 officially roared into action on 16–17 May at the iconic Petronas Sepang International Circuit, delivering an adrenaline-filled opening round packed with close racing, dramatic overtakes, and the debut of the all-new OMR Pro Series.

Now entering its fourth season, the SKILLDRVN One Make Race (OMR) championship continues to strengthen its position as one of Malaysia’s most accessible and competitive grassroots racing platforms. This year, a total of 15 Suzuki Swift race cars joined the grid, comprising four Pro Series entries and 11 OMR Series competitors.

Built around equal machinery and controlled performance, the championship places emphasis on driver ability rather than technical advantages, creating a fair and highly competitive environment for racers of all experience levels. At the same time, the relatively low operating costs continue to make motorsport more accessible to aspiring drivers.

Season 4 also marks a significant milestone for the championship as OMR introduced its own dedicated standing start procedure for the very first time — a major achievement reflecting the growth and maturity of the series over recent years.

The 2026 season will feature five rounds, with every race weekend consisting of two sprint races. Race 1 begins with a rolling start, while Race 2 features a standing start format, adding different strategic challenges and more exciting wheel-to-wheel action for both drivers and fans.

One of the biggest developments for 2026 is the expansion of the OMR Pro Series, a new category designed to elevate competition while preserving the spirit of affordable grassroots motorsport.

Unlike the regular OMR Series, the Pro Series features team-owned race cars operated by established racing teams and brand partners. The Suzuki Swift race cars in this category receive upgraded drivetrain components, suspension enhancements, and improved handling packages to deliver a more competitive driving experience.

The Pro Series also serves as a development platform for talented racers, giving standout drivers an opportunity to compete under professional teams and sponsors.

Four teams officially confirmed their line-ups for the inaugural Pro Series campaign:

  • BENDIX Ultimate Racing Team – #888 Teoh Cheong Liong
  • Profimax Racing Team – #27 Andy Boey Kai Jin
  • Team Ultra Racing – #331 Loke Yin Yi
  • ELF Evolution Team – #168 Vox Lim Keng Jun

For all four drivers, Season 4 marks their first full Pro Series campaign, making it a major step forward in their motorsport careers.

The weekend’s action began with an intense qualifying session as drivers pushed hard for the best grid positions.

In the newly introduced OMR Pro Series, reigning OMR Series champion #331 Loke Yin Yi secured pole position for the championship’s first-ever self-organised Pro Series event, continuing the strong momentum from her title-winning campaign last season.

Meanwhile, #512 Imran delivered an impressive performance in the OMR Series to secure pole position ahead of Race Day.

Race 1 exploded into life as the field launched into the opening laps under a rolling start.

In the Pro Series category, pole sitter Loke Yin Yi led the field into Turn 1, while Imran maintained control of the OMR Series despite heavy pressure from the chasing pack.

The midfield battle quickly intensified, with overtakes happening across nearly every corner. On Lap 2, #671 Zack and #704 Rafin managed to pass #52 G Young, reshuffling the order during an aggressive early-race fight.

One of the standout performances came from #791 Seow Chee Fong, who charged from the back of the grid to fourth position by Lap 3 in one of the race’s biggest comeback drives.

At the front of the Pro Series battle, #27 Andy Boey briefly took the lead after overtaking Yin Yi on Lap 4. However, the closing stages produced a dramatic finale when Yin Yi and #168 Vox Lim launched late attacks to reclaim positions from Andy Boey before the chequered flag.

Despite several incidents, spins, and mechanical setbacks throughout the race, Imran remained calm under pressure to secure a commanding victory in the OMR Series.

The second race of the weekend continued the intense action with aggressive battles and constant overtaking from lights out.

Loke Yin Yi once again led the Pro Series field but faced relentless pressure throughout the race. In the OMR Series, Imran maintained his impressive pace while fierce midfield battles unfolded behind him.

Seow Chee Fong once again became one of the race’s standout performers after pulling off aggressive overtakes on G Young and Rafin to move into second place. However, Rafin fought back strongly on Lap 3, reclaiming the position after a thrilling multi-car battle.

In the Pro Series, Andy Boey showed strong pace after overtaking Vox Lim for second place before setting the fastest lap of the race with a blistering 2:49.662 on Lap 5 as he closed in on race leader Yin Yi.

The battle intensified further when Vox Lim regained second place after another decisive move on Andy Boey, keeping the fight for podium positions alive until the final laps.
