The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) successfully wrapped up the inaugural KLIMS Run 2026 yesterday, marking an exciting milestone in the lead-up to the highly anticipated Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2026. Held alongside the popular KL Car-Free Morning initiative, the event brought together more than 1,000 participants for a lively morning of fitness, community engagement, and social interaction in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.

Flagged off at 7:00 AM from Dataran Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur, the run featured both 5KM and 7KM categories, attracting automotive enthusiasts, families, fitness communities, and members of the public. As the first-ever community run introduced under the KLIMS pre-show calendar, the event reflected the “Beyond Mobility” theme that will define KLIMS 2026.

More than just a sporting activity, KLIMS Run 2026 aimed to showcase how mobility can go beyond transportation by fostering healthier lifestyles, stronger communities, and meaningful social connections. The event highlighted MAA’s broader vision of making the upcoming mobility show more inclusive, engaging, and accessible to Malaysians from all walks of life.

In conjunction with the run, MAA also reinforced its commitment to community outreach by presenting a RM5,000 contribution to Narcotic Addiction Rehabilitation Center (PUSPEN) Dengkil, a rehabilitation centre operated under the National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA). The contribution, channelled through the Selangor Youth Community, supports rehabilitation and recovery programmes for individuals overcoming drug dependency while encouraging greater youth participation and public involvement in community-driven initiatives.

According to Mohd Shamsor bin Mohd Zain, the positive response to the inaugural run reflects how mobility today extends beyond vehicles and technology. He noted that KLIMS continues to evolve into a platform that not only explores the future of mobility, but also promotes wellbeing, shared experiences, and stronger community connections.

Participants of the KLIMS Run 2026 also received exclusive race kits featuring a limited-edition event t-shirt, commemorative finisher medal, race bib, drawstring bag, and a complimentary ticket to KLIMS 2026. Adding to the excitement, lucky draw prizes were also up for grabs, including the grand prize of a MacBook Neo.

Looking ahead, attention now turns to the main event — Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2026, which will take place from 12 to 21 June 2026 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre. Now in its 11th edition, the show is expected to feature major automotive launches, emerging mobility technologies, and immersive exhibits from leading local and international automotive brands, all centred around its “Beyond Mobility” vision.
