Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC) recently launched a new powertrain for the latest Ranger Raptor due to the strong demands from Raptor fans nationwide. This new powertrain will be the 2.0-liter Bi-Turbo Diesel engine, and this will be available for purchase starting from June 8th 2023 onwards.
The Next-Generation Ranger Raptor 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel builds upon the success of its predecessor, the 2.0L Ranger Raptor, which boasted an impressive power output of up to 210 PS and 500 Nm of torque, accessible from as low as 1,750 rpm. This new offering caters to the desires of Malaysian consumers who are seeking a wider range of engine choices.
Similar to its 3.0-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 counterpart launched last year, the Next-Gen Ranger Raptor 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel features the same striking and dynamic exterior and interior styling, integrated technologies, advanced safety features, as well as the enhanced capabilities and upgraded components that represent Ford’s cutting-edge innovations.
To mark its launch, the initial 300 bookings of the Next-Gen Ranger Raptor Bi-Turbo 2.0L Diesel will come with a special inclusion: the Kenwood DRV-A700W dashcam system. This system features a Wide-Quad HD (WQHD, 3.7MP) front camera and a Full HD (FHD, 1080p) rear camera for dual-channel recording. Equipped with a three-axis G-Sensor designed to detect collisions, the dashcam also offers a built-in wireless smartphone link, simplifying the management of recorded videos and dashcam settings. Furthermore, the built-in GPS receiver records driving information and location tracking, while the polarized filter ensures vivid and clearer images.
Engineered as the ultimate Ranger model, with Ford’s Performance DNA at its core, the Ranger Raptor has consistently exceeded expectations, setting new benchmarks as the sole factory-built performance truck suitable for high-speed off-roading. The Next-Gen Ranger Raptor achieved a significant milestone by successfully completing the challenging SCORE International Baja 1000 race in Mexico last year. The vehicle used in the race was sourced directly from the same factory in Thailand responsible for manufacturing all Next-Gen Ford Rangers and Raptors seen on the road.
To offer interested individuals a closer look at the Next-Gen Ranger Raptor 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel, an official launch event will be held from June 9 to 11, 2023, at MRANTI Open Space, West Entrance (formerly known as Technology Park Malaysia), opposite Pavilion Bukit Jalil. The chosen location provides an opportunity for attendees to experience test drives covering different terrains, including tarmac, dirt, and rocky surfaces.
Moreover, the diesel-engine Next-Gen Ranger Raptor will embark on a tour across various regions of Peninsular Malaysia, including the northern
