BYD Sime Motors is expanding its presence in the Klang Valley with the opening of BYD Rawang, a new showroom that combines electric mobility, contemporary design and support for Malaysia’s emerging creative talent. Operated by BE Autohaus under BE Group, the new outlet marks the group’s third BYD showroom in Malaysia, following BYD Setia Alam and BYD Kota Kemuning.
The opening strengthens BYD’s retail network in the northern Klang Valley, giving customers in Rawang and nearby communities’ greater access to the brand’s growing range of electric vehicles (EVs). Situated in a rapidly developing part of the Klang Valley, BYD Rawang is designed to offer more than just a place to browse and purchase electric cars. Its welcoming environment aims to make discovering electric mobility a comfortable and engaging experience, whether customers are exploring their first EV or considering their next vehicle.
Spanning 4,298 sq. ft. within a 10,803 sq. ft. site, BYD Rawang features a European-inspired architectural design characterised by light-coloured finishes, balanced proportions and subtle castle-inspired details. The showroom can accommodate up to five vehicles, allowing visitors to explore BYD’s electric vehicle line-up in a spacious setting. A dedicated customer lounge provides a place to relax and discuss their options, while a separate new car delivery room offers a more personal setting for customers collecting their new vehicles. However, BYD Rawang has another feature that sets it apart from a conventional automotive showroom: a dedicated space for emerging Malaysian artists to showcase and sell their work.
In an initiative that brings the automotive and creative communities together, BYD Rawang will provide aspiring local artists with an opportunity to exhibit their artwork directly within the showroom. Selected artists will be able to display their creations for three months at a time, with the showcase refreshed every quarter to introduce new talent and keep the experience fresh for visitors. The initiative aims to give emerging creatives greater exposure while allowing customers to discover something beyond the latest electric vehicles during their visit.
There is also a direct benefit for participating artists. All displayed artworks will be available for purchase, and artists will retain 100% of the proceeds from their sales, with no commission charged. Submission guidelines and eligibility requirements will be announced through BYD Rawang’s official social media channels. Applications will be reviewed, and shortlisted artists will be contacted directly.
For BE Group, the initiative reflects a broader ambition to make its newest showroom a meaningful part of the surrounding community rather than simply another destination for car buyers. “The opening of BYD Rawang is an important milestone for BE Group as we grow from our first BYD outlet in Setia Alam to Kota Kemuning and now Rawang,” said Andrew Tay, Managing Director of BE Group.
“Our priority is to create a welcoming showroom where customers can discover BYD’s electric vehicles and receive the attention and support they need. At the same time, we wanted this outlet to contribute to the community around us. “By giving emerging local artists a platform to showcase and sell their work, we hope to support local talent while creating a distinctive experience for our customers and visitors.”
BE Group’s partnership with BYD began in November 2022 with the opening of BYD Setia Alam, operated by BE Drive Auto. The group subsequently expanded its presence with BYD Kota Kemuning, operated by BE Motorworld, in September 2024. The addition of BYD Rawang, under BE Autohaus, represents the next step in the group’s expansion and strengthens its ability to serve customers across a wider area of the Klang Valley.
The opening also reflects BYD Sime Motors’ broader strategy of working with local dealer partners to bring its electric vehicles closer to Malaysian customers while improving the overall showroom and ownership experience. “Malaysia is an important market for BYD, and our growth here is shaped by strong local partnerships and a long-term commitment to the communities we serve,” said Liu Xueliang, Vice President of BYD Co., Ltd. and General Manager of BYD Asia Pacific Auto Sales Division.
“While expanding access to electric mobility remains a priority, we also believe in creating spaces that reflect the character and aspirations of the communities around us. BYD Rawang is a testament to that approach, bringing together innovation, design and artistic expression under one roof.” He added that supporting emerging artists would help celebrate Malaysia’s creative culture while building stronger connections with customers and local communities.
Adeline Lew, Managing Director of BYD Sime Motors, said the new outlet reinforces the company’s commitment to making electric mobility more accessible throughout Malaysia. “Our dealer partners play an important role in bringing the BYD brand closer to local communities, and we are pleased to build on our partnership with BE Group as it opens its third BYD outlet,” she said.
Through continued network expansion, BYD Sime Motors aims to provide customers with more convenient access to its electric vehicle range and a consistent experience throughout the ownership journey. Nationwide, the company’s network comprises 45 sales and marketing outlets, 33 aftersales facilities and 16 body and paint centres, supporting customers from their initial showroom visit through to vehicle maintenance and repairs.
To mark the occasion, BYD Rawang is holding a launch open house from 19 to 30 October 2026. Visitors can experience BYD’s electric vehicles through test drives, explore exclusive launch-period offers on selected models and participate in lucky draws when booking a vehicle during the event. The showroom’s inaugural emerging artist showcase will also be available for visitors to discover.
