GWM Malaysia is expanding its nationwide footprint with the opening of two new dealerships in Johor and Selangor, bringing its growing range of vehicles and aftersales services closer to customers in the Southern and Central regions. The new outlets, GWM Skudai in Johor Bahru and GWM Equine Park in Seri Kembangan, are operated by Auto Elegance Sdn. Bhd. and Golden Admiral Motors Sdn. Bhd., respectively. Both facilities are designed to provide customers with easier access to vehicle sales, test drives, servicing and technical support.

With these additions, GWM Malaysia now has more than 40 outlets nationwide, supporting its HAVAL, TANK, ORA and WEY brands. The expansion comes amid encouraging sales momentum for the Chinese automotive manufacturer. As of the end of the third quarter of 2026, GWM Malaysia recorded 5,165 vehicle deliveries, representing a 33% increase compared with the same period last year.

According to GWM Malaysia Managing Director Stan Li Hao, growing the dealer network is about more than increasing the number of locations. The company also aims to make its products and services more accessible while maintaining a consistent customer experience across its network. He highlighted the importance of strong dealer partnerships in building closer relationships with customers and supporting them throughout their ownership journey.

As GWM continues to offer vehicles powered by internal combustion engines (ICE), hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and fully electric powertrains, the company is also investing in its dealers’ technical capabilities to accommodate increasingly diverse vehicle technologies. GWM Malaysia Chief Operating Officer Roslan Abdullah said the company is strengthening technical training, spare parts availability, dealer operating standards and GWM Care to ensure customers receive dependable support after purchasing their vehicles.

Officially opened on 8 October 2026, GWM Skudai marks an important addition to the brand’s presence in Southern Malaysia. Operated by Auto Elegance Sdn. Bhd., the new 3S facility occupies approximately 22,006 sq. ft. in Skudai, Johor Bahru. Its location allows it to serve customers from Skudai, Johor Bahru, Iskandar Puteri and surrounding communities.

The facility combines sales, service and spare parts operations under one roof, offering a more convenient ownership experience for customers who prefer to handle their vehicle purchases and maintenance at a single location. Its facilities include five vehicle display spaces, three service bays, an EV charging station, a dedicated vehicle delivery bay, a customer lounge and advanced diagnostic equipment. The service centre can accommodate approximately 150 vehicles per month.

Customers can also view and test-drive selected models from GWM’s portfolio, including the HAVAL H6, WEY G9, TANK 300, TANK 500 and ORA Good Cat. Beyond its automotive services, the new outlet is expected to support approximately 40 jobs across sales, servicing, technical operations and customer support.

Auto Elegance Managing Director Yang Ce said the company sees considerable potential for GWM in Johor and intends to build lasting relationships with customers in the area. He added that the dealership aims to become a trusted part of the local community by offering vehicles that meet different lifestyles and expectations, while ensuring customers receive proper support from their initial enquiry through long-term ownership.

GWM Malaysia’s expansion in the Central region continues with the official opening of GWM Equine Park on 10 October 2026. Operated by Golden Admiral Motors Sdn. Bhd., the dealership is positioned to serve customers in Seri Kembangan, Putrajaya, Cyberjaya and neighbouring areas, where residential and commercial developments continue to create opportunities for automotive retailers.

The dealership’s development has taken place in stages. Showroom operations began on 6 April 2026, followed by the opening of its dedicated service centre on 10 August 2026. The official opening marks another milestone in the dealer’s commitment to serving GWM customers in the region. GWM Equine Park operates through a 1S+2S sales and aftersales arrangement across two premises, with a combined built-up area of approximately 9,431 sq. ft.

The showroom occupies around 5,770 sq. ft. and can accommodate at least seven display vehicles, with additional outdoor display and test-drive space. Meanwhile, the 3,661 sq. ft. service centre is equipped with four vehicle hoists, tyre balancing and wheel alignment facilities, diagnostic equipment and workshop capabilities to support GWM’s ICE, HEV, PHEV and EV models. Customers will also have access to vehicle consultations, dedicated delivery and waiting areas, genuine spare parts, scheduled maintenance, diagnostic services and general repairs. Selected models available for viewing and test drives include the HAVAL H6 HEV, TANK 300, TANK 500 and WEY G9, alongside other vehicles in the brand’s expanding lineup.

Golden Admiral Motors Managing Director Dato’ William Chang Yoong Hsi said the investment reflects the company’s long-term confidence in GWM and its commitment to providing customers with a dependable ownership experience. He emphasised that the dealership’s investment extends beyond its showroom, covering aftersales facilities, equipment and personnel to ensure customers receive consistent support from their first visit through vehicle delivery and subsequent maintenance.

The opening of GWM Skudai and GWM Equine Park highlights the company’s efforts to grow its dealer network alongside its expanding customer base and increasingly diverse vehicle portfolio. While a wider network gives prospective buyers more opportunities to explore GWM models, the investment in service facilities and technical capabilities is equally important for existing owners. Access to trained technicians, genuine spare parts and appropriate diagnostic equipment will be increasingly relevant as more electrified models enter the market.
