As World Tourism Day approaches on 27 September, JETOUR Malaysia is highlighting a broader idea of travel — one that goes beyond simply reaching a destination. Through its Travel+ philosophy, JETOUR sees every journey as an opportunity to experience local culture, discover new places and build connections with the communities along the way. In Malaysia, the brand has been bringing this philosophy to life through activities that combine mobility, outdoor experiences, culture and community participation.
One of the most recent examples was the Malaysia Sarong Music Run 2026, held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) on 19 September. The event attracted more than 20,000 participants for an evening combining music, movement and Malaysian culture, with JETOUR Malaysia serving as the event’s Title Sponsor and Official Car Partner.
The event also provided the backdrop for the launch of the JETOUR T2 i-DM PHEV, while more than 100 JETOUR owners took part in a city convoy. The gathering eventually turned its attention towards the Kuala Lumpur skyline, where a drone show displayed messages including “TRAVEL WITH JETOUR”, “World Tourism Day” and “Visit Malaysia 2026 – 2027”.
The newly launched T2 i-DM PHEV was also featured in formation against the backdrop of Kuala Lumpur’s iconic landmarks, creating a visual connection between the vehicle, travel and Malaysia’s tourism campaign. Beyond the event itself, JETOUR Malaysia shared livestream and video content across the brand’s international platforms. This gave audiences outside Malaysia an opportunity to experience the celebration and offered another platform to showcase Malaysian culture as the country continues its Visit Malaysia 2026 – 2027 campaign.
JETOUR’s involvement with the Malaysia Sarong Music Run is not a one-off collaboration. The brand has supported the event since 2025 and has now extended its relationship with the Malaysia Marathon organiser through a new three-year partnership covering 2027 to 2029. The partnership is expected to explore opportunities around local travel culture and outdoor lifestyle experiences, with both parties sharing an interest in bringing people together through movement, exploration and travel.
The Sarong Music Run also opened the door for JETOUR Malaysia to work more closely with organisations involved in protecting Malaysia’s natural environment. The brand formed partnerships with the Marine Conservation and Research Organisation Malaysia (PULIHARA) and the Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia (TCS). Representatives from both organisations were also recognised as JETOUR Travel Ambassadors.
Through the initiative, travel and conservation are brought together under the same conversation. While travelling allows people to discover Malaysia’s beaches, forests, wildlife and other natural attractions, protecting these environments ensures they can continue to be enjoyed by future generations.
JETOUR International President Ke Chuandeng said the brand’s approach is guided by its global philosophy of “In somewhere, for somewhere, Be somewhere”, with mobility serving as a way to connect its Travel+ philosophy with local culture. For JETOUR, the idea is to develop stronger relationships with customers and partners while becoming more connected to the communities and places in which it operates.
Ultimately, World Tourism Day is about more than travelling from one destination to another. It is also about the people encountered, cultures experienced and places discovered along the way. For JETOUR Malaysia, its recent activities demonstrate how a vehicle can become part of that experience — not merely as a means of getting somewhere, but as a way of bringing people together and encouraging them to explore what lies beyond the road.
