Proton’s electric mobility division, Proton e.MAS, has once again reinforced its commitment to making electric vehicle ownership more relatable and lifestyle-focused with the return of “The Real e.MAS Drive” — a women-led EV driving experience designed around wellness, creativity, and everyday practicality.

Held in conjunction with Women’s Health Month under the theme “Zoom to Bloom,” the second edition of the initiative brought together female participants for a unique journey that combined electrified mobility with self-care and relaxation. The event took place at Sentosa Janda Baik, offering a scenic backdrop that complemented the campaign’s focus on rest, mindfulness, and balance.

Participants had the opportunity to experience both the Proton e.MAS 7 and the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV, with activities designed to showcase how seamlessly EVs can integrate into daily life. From smooth driving dynamics to charging convenience, the event highlighted the accessibility and practicality of electrified mobility for modern urban lifestyles. A live fast-charging demonstration also gave attendees a closer look at how quick charging sessions can easily fit into everyday schedules.

According to Pn. Salawati Binti Mohd Yusoff, Chief Branding Officer of PRO-NET, the growing interest among Malaysian women reflects changing perceptions toward EV ownership. She explained that the campaign was created not only to introduce the vehicles, but also to encourage women to take time for themselves and prioritise their well-being.

The drive began from the Proton Centre of Excellence, where participants followed a scenic route featuring curated checkpoints that simulated real-world EV usage scenarios in a relaxed environment. Upon arriving at Sentosa Janda Baik, attendees took part in a floral arrangement workshop inspired by modern ikebana techniques. The session encouraged mindfulness and creativity, aligning closely with the overall Women’s Health Month message.

Beyond the driving experience, Proton e.MAS also used the occasion to showcase its broader EV lineup. Guests were introduced to the newly launched Proton e.MAS 5 in its Jade Green finish, which attracted attention for its youthful and lifestyle-oriented appearance. The colour’s resemblance to the increasingly popular “matcha-inspired” aesthetic trend resonated particularly well with female attendees seeking a more expressive and stylish mobility option.

Practicality remained a major focus throughout the event. The Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV demonstrated its versatility with up to 528 litres of boot space, expandable to over 2,000 litres, making it ideal for carrying luggage, equipment, and everyday essentials. The standard Proton e.MAS 7 also impressed with its flexible cabin layout and spacious storage solutions.

Participants shared positive impressions after the drive experience. Zakkina Wati Ahmad Tarmizi described the Proton e.MAS 7 as effortless to drive, praising its quiet cabin, smooth acceleration, and comfortable overall experience that felt more lifestyle-oriented than a conventional test drive.

Meanwhile, Madhuri Rasamoney highlighted the flexibility of the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV, noting that its ability to switch between EV driving for city commutes and petrol power for longer journeys made it particularly appealing for daily use and weekend travel alike. She also pointed out the model’s accessible pricing, positioning it as a compelling option for Malaysians transitioning toward electrified mobility.

The Proton e.MAS 7 range starts from RM99,800 after a RM4,000 Welcome Benefit, offering buyers an affordable entry point into EV ownership while still delivering premium features such as a 15.4-inch 2.5K infotainment display, Level 2 ADAS safety systems, and 100kW DC fast charging capable of charging from 30 to 80 percent in just 20 minutes.

For drivers seeking additional flexibility, the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV Prime is priced from RM105,800 after the same promotional benefit. Equipped with EM-i Advanced Hybrid Technology, the model prioritises electric-first urban driving while retaining petrol-powered convenience for longer trips. With a combined driving range exceeding 1,000 kilometres and fuel consumption rated at 4.3L/100km, the plug-in hybrid aims to bridge the gap for consumers gradually transitioning toward full electrification.

As Proton e.MAS surpasses 20,000 vehicles on Malaysian roads just over a year after launching its first model, PRO-NET continues to expand its nationwide dealer network, after-sales services, and charging infrastructure access, further strengthening support for EV ownership across the country.
