PRO-NET has reached a significant milestone in Malaysia’s electrified mobility journey, announcing that more than 20,000 Proton e.MAS vehicles are now actively on the road nationwide. The achievement reflects growing consumer confidence in electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, while reinforcing the brand’s rapid rise in the local EV market.
According to PRO-NET Chief Executive Officer, Zhang Qiang, the milestone demonstrates the increasing acceptance of electrified mobility among Malaysian drivers. He noted that the strong response from consumers highlights a clear transition in the market, with more motorists willing to embrace electric vehicles as part of their daily lifestyles.
Driving much of this momentum is the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV, which has emerged as Malaysia’s best-selling plug-in hybrid vehicle for 2026 year-to-date. Since its debut in early February, the model has attracted strong attention from buyers, recording over 6,500 bookings within just a few months of launch. The PHEV model also registered 1,755 units year-to-date, including 1,013 units in April alone, cementing its position as a leading choice in the growing plug-in hybrid segment.
Across the broader Proton e.MAS range, the brand has accumulated 20,509 registrations so far in 2026. This total includes 10,067 units of the Proton e.MAS 7 and 8,687 units of the Proton e.MAS 5. In April alone, the electrified lineup contributed 3,421 registrations, with the Proton e.MAS 5 accounting for 1,772 units and the Proton e.MAS 7 adding another 636 units. The figures underline sustained demand for Proton’s electrified offerings as interest in EV technology continues to expand across the country.
Beyond vehicle sales, PRO-NET is also focusing on strengthening the supporting ecosystem needed to sustain long-term EV growth. As the number of Proton e.MAS vehicles on Malaysian roads increases, the company is scaling its nationwide infrastructure to provide customers with better ownership support, improved aftersales service, and greater charging accessibility.
Currently, the Proton e.MAS network consists of 53 dealer operations nationwide, backed by 10 body and paint centres. The company is also expanding its 3S centre footprint toward 40 locations to cater to rising customer demand. At the same time, PRO-NET is enhancing technical readiness and service capabilities to improve turnaround times and provide a smoother ownership experience for EV customers.
The continued expansion of both the vehicle lineup and support infrastructure signals PRO-NET’s long-term commitment to accelerating Malaysia’s transition toward electrified mobility. With demand for EVs and plug-in hybrids steadily rising, the company appears determined to ensure that customer confidence is matched by a reliable and accessible nationwide support network.
