MG Motor Malaysia has officially pulled the covers off the latest addition to its EV lineup—the stunning new MG Cyberster RWD. Priced from RM299,900, this all-electric rear-wheel-drive roadster offers Malaysians a more accessible entry into the world of high-performance electric sports cars, without sacrificing design, innovation, or excitement.
Touted as the world’s first electric roadster with scissor doors, the MG Cyberster makes a bold design statement. The RWD variant joins the previously announced AWD version, blending motorsport-inspired styling with cutting-edge EV technology. Powering the MG Cyberster RWD is a 340 PS electric motor delivering 475 Nm of torque, enabling it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.0 seconds. Its 77kWh battery promises an impressive range of 508km, while fast DC charging allows a 10–80% recharge in just 38 minutes.
Performance hardware like 19-inch alloy wheels and Brembo brake calipers ensure the Cyberster drives as good as it looks. The sleek low-slung exterior, complete with a Kammback tail and arrow-shaped LED tail lamps, is matched by a cabin that’s as premium as it is purposeful. Leather upholstery with Alcantara inserts, enhanced lumbar support, and a tri-screen digital display setup—featuring a 10.25-inch driver cluster and dual 7-inch auxiliary screens—give the cockpit a truly modern, race-ready feel.
Designed from the ground up as an EV, the MG Cyberster uses an ultra-thin battery architecture that maximises cabin room and lowers the centre of gravity for enhanced handling. MG also highlights its proprietary battery safety technology, which reduces cell expansion and extends battery longevity.
Buyers can select from four vivid exterior colours: Dynamic Red, Camden Grey, Inca Yellow, and English White. Interior combinations include black and red for the first two, while the latter two pair with grey cabins. A red soft top is available for just RM2,000 more than the standard black option.
