Valvoline Global Operations has introduced its new Champ motorcycle engine oil range in Malaysia, expanding its lubricant offerings with formulations designed to meet the demands of local riders, from daily commuters navigating congested city streets to motorcyclists embarking on long-distance highway journeys. The launch reinforces Valvoline’s commitment to delivering engine protection and performance suited to Malaysia’s tropical climate, heavy traffic conditions and diverse riding habits.

With dedicated formulations for conventional four-stroke motorcycles and scooters, the expanded lineup aims to provide riders with suitable lubrication solutions across different engine types and generations. Drawing on Valvoline’s 160-year engineering heritage, the new range focuses on managing high engine temperatures, minimising harmful deposit build-up and maintaining consistent power delivery under demanding riding conditions.

Leading the lineup are two key formulations: the fully synthetic Valvoline Champ 4T Ultra Racing 10W-50 and the Champ 4T Extra 15W-50. Both are certified to meet API SP and JASO MA2 performance standards, with technologies developed to address different riding requirements. Designed for high-performance motorcycles and long-distance touring, the fully synthetic Champ 4T Ultra Racing 10W-50 incorporates Power Booster Technology to deliver responsive acceleration, refined riding control and sustained protection during high-speed operation and exposure to elevated temperatures.

For riders dealing with frequent stops and starts in urban environments, the Champ 4T Extra 15W-50 features XTRA Clean Technology to help maintain internal engine cleanliness, improve throttle response and support longer engine life. Available in a convenient one-litre pack, it is tailored to the needs of daily riders facing demanding traffic conditions.

Beyond the flagship products, Valvoline has expanded its standard four-stroke motorcycle range to cater to different engine requirements, riding styles and budgets. The fully synthetic Champ 4T Ultra Racing 10W-40 joins the 10W-50 variant, offering Power Booster Technology and enhanced thermal resistance for riders who regularly undertake highway journeys.

For everyday urban use, the synthetic-blend Champ 4T Extra is available in 10W-40 and 15W-50 grades. Both utilise XTRA Clean Technology to help reduce harmful engine deposits, while supporting responsive performance and fuel economy in stop-and-go traffic. Completing the conventional motorcycle lineup are Champ 4T Premium, available in 20W-40 and 20W-50, and Champ 4T in 20W-40. These products are designed to provide dependable wear protection and high-temperature tolerance for daily commuting and older four-stroke motorcycles.

Scooter owners are also catered for through a dedicated range developed around their specific lubrication requirements. At the top of the scooter lineup is the fully synthetic Champ 4T Ultra Scooter 5W-40, supplied in a 0.8-litre pack. Equipped with Power Booster Technology, it is formulated to support fuel efficiency, thermal protection and power delivery in newer gearless scooters.

For mid-generation gearless scooters, the Champ 4T Extra Scooter comes in 10W-30 and 10W-40 grades. Featuring XTRA Clean Technology, the oils are designed to help maintain engine cleanliness while supporting smooth power delivery and fuel efficiency. Meanwhile, the Champ 4T Premium Scooter, available in 10W-30 and 10W-40, offers dependable wear protection and consistent performance over standard oil-drain intervals, making it suitable for everyday short-distance travel. The dedicated scooter formulations carry JASO MB and API certifications, while the standard four-stroke motorcycle products are designed around JASO MA2 and API requirements.

Commenting on the launch, Leong Tak Chuan, Cluster Manager for Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei at Valvoline Global Operations, highlighted the importance of motorcycles and scooters to everyday mobility in Malaysia. He said the country remains one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic two-wheeler markets, with millions of people relying on motorcycles and scooters for their daily journeys.

Building on its long engineering heritage, Valvoline developed the new range to bring its lubrication technology closer to the needs of local riders, whether they are commuting through congested urban areas or travelling longer distances on highways. The new Valvoline Champ motorcycle engine oil range is distributed in Malaysia by Vanli Group, one of the brand’s authorised local distributors. Products are now available nationwide through authorised workshops, retailers and service centres.

To mark the launch, Vanli Group is also sponsoring 1,000 bottles of Valvoline engine oil for Lalamove driver partners. The initiative extends the benefits of engine lubrication to delivery riders, whose motorcycles play an important role in supporting Malaysia’s last-mile delivery network.
