UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) recorded more than 24,500 vehicle sales in the third quarter of 2026, bringing its year-to-date total to over 60,800 units. The results reflect the company’s continued efforts to strengthen its position in Malaysia while enhancing the ownership experience through digital services, greater convenience and improved access to electrified mobility.

As Malaysia’s automotive landscape evolves, with growing interest in electrified vehicles and increasingly diverse mobility options, UMWT is looking beyond vehicle sales to deliver greater value throughout the ownership journey. Its latest initiatives focus on simplifying vehicle maintenance, encouraging digital engagement and expanding the infrastructure needed to support electric vehicle (EV) adoption.

“Our third quarter performance reflects the continued trust Malaysians place in Toyota and the strength of the ownership experience we have built over the years. As the market evolves, our focus remains clear. We want every customer to feel confident in their choice, supported in their journey, and assured that Toyota delivers value long after they leave the showroom. We are strengthening the Toyota experience around reliability, convenience and customer confidence, which matter most to our customers,” said Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMW Toyota Motor.

One of UMWT’s key initiatives is the return of its Toyota MY App campaign, which runs from 14 September to 31 December 2026. Designed to encourage greater use of the digital platform, the campaign rewards customers for registering on the app and booking vehicle servicing through it.

Customers will receive 500 Loyal-T Points upon registering for the Toyota MY App, followed by another 500 Loyal-T Points for every service booking made through the app when sending their vehicles for servicing. The offer is available to both new and existing app users, giving more Toyota owners an incentive to manage their aftersales needs digitally. By encouraging customers to book their servicing through the app, UMWT aims to make routine vehicle maintenance more convenient while strengthening its digital engagement with Toyota owners.

Beyond digital services, UMWT is also working to improve access to electrified mobility through its Multi-Pathway approach, which recognises the need for different mobility solutions to meet varying customer needs. In collaboration with chargEV and JomCharge, the company is expanding public EV charging infrastructure across selected Toyota and Lexus locations nationwide. The initiative targets a total of 42 public charging points across 21 sites, with a phased rollout scheduled for the first half of 2027.

Of the planned network, 38 charging points will be installed across 19 locations under chargEV, while JomCharge will provide four charging points across two locations. Seven sites have already been completed, with the remaining locations scheduled to follow in stages as UMWT works towards its full network target.

Importantly, the charging facilities will be open to all EVs, rather than being restricted to Toyota and Lexus customers. This will give EV drivers more opportunities to recharge at familiar automotive locations while supporting the broader development of Malaysia’s public charging network. Drivers will also be able to locate participating sites through the respective chargEV and JomCharge apps, making it easier to identify available charging locations when planning their journeys.

UMWT’s third-quarter initiatives highlight its broader strategy of making vehicle ownership more convenient and relevant to customers’ everyday lives. From rewarding digital service bookings to expanding access to public EV charging, the company is strengthening the supporting services that complement its vehicle line-up.
