The Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) is putting the future of the automotive industry firmly in the spotlight with the upcoming MARA Automotive Ecosystem (MATEC) 2026, which will be held under the theme ‘Drive the Future’. Set to take place from 27 to 29 November 2026 at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, MATEC 2026 is being positioned as more than just another automotive gathering. Instead, the three-day event aims to connect Bumiputera entrepreneurs, automotive industry players, TVET graduates, financial institutions, government agencies and enthusiasts on a single platform covering business, talent and technology.
The event was officially unveiled during its pre-launch ceremony at The Atrium, BUSANA @ MENARA MARA in Kuala Lumpur, with this year’s edition centred around three key aspirations: Future Automotive, TVET Excellence and Electric Mobility. According to MARA Chairman YBhg. Datuk Wira Dr. Asyraf Wajdi Dato’ Dusuki, MATEC 2026 has been structured around five main pillars designed to create new opportunities across the automotive ecosystem.
The entrepreneurship pillar will focus on business matching sessions, vendor development programmes and franchise opportunities, giving Bumiputera businesses avenues to establish new connections and explore higher-value segments of the automotive supply chain. Technology will form another major component, with visitors able to explore electric vehicles, smart mobility solutions and artificial intelligence applications within the automotive sector.
MATEC 2026 will also serve as a networking platform linking government agencies with industry players, while TVET programmes will provide opportunities for graduates through open interviews and skills competitions. Sustainability is another key element, with the event incorporating circular economy exhibitions and green mobility zones to highlight the industry’s transition towards more sustainable business and mobility models.
The event has received support from several government ministries and agencies, including the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Ministry of Finance Malaysia (MOF), Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA) and Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp). Industry and corporate partners supporting MATEC 2026 include Robotics and IoT Malaysia (MARii), Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia, PETRONAS, Mannol, Bateriku, PMH, GGR Legacy, Bubbles O2, CelcomDigi, Nabilah Bahrin Group (Kak Nab), ZK Racing, MAMEE, Pro Apparel, Ustaz Gadget, ADXTG Rider Malaysia, XMAX Owner Club Malaysia, GRT Motorsport and VesprintKL.
Beyond business and technology, MATEC 2026 is also expected to have plenty for automotive enthusiasts and families, turning the event into a broader motoring and lifestyle carnival. Outdoor attractions will include campervan and motorhome gatherings, modified car displays, drift performances and the Fantastic Food Festival by KakNab.
Inside the stadium, visitors can check out diecast exhibitions, Tamiya Mini 4WD activities, RC Play, racing simulator challenges and e-sports zones. Career open interviews will also provide visitors with an opportunity to explore potential employment and skills-development pathways within the industry. Admission is free.
