BMW Malaysia has officially introduced the all-new BMW iX3 50 xDrive M Sport Pro, marking the local debut of the brand’s highly anticipated Neue Klasse generation. More than just another electric SUV, the new iX3 represents a major technological shift for BMW, bringing an entirely new electric platform, advanced software architecture and next-generation driving technologies that will shape the future of the brand.
According to BMW Group Malaysia Managing Director Benjamin Nagel, the arrival of the Neue Klasse portfolio signals a defining moment for the company, much like the original BMW 1500 did in the 1960s. He highlighted that the new BMW iX3 has already earned global recognition by winning both the 2026 World Car of the Year and World Electric Vehicle of the Year awards, underlining its significance in the premium automotive segment.

At the heart of the new iX3 is BMW’s sixth-generation eDrive technology, built around an advanced 800-volt electrical architecture. Powered by a 108.7kWh battery pack featuring cylindrical cells in a cell-to-pack configuration, the dual-motor all-wheel-drive system produces 345kW (469hp) and 645Nm of torque, delivering strong performance while maintaining BMW’s signature rear-biased driving characteristics.

One of the standout innovations is the “Heart of Joy” control unit, a new high-performance computing system responsible for managing power delivery, braking and vehicle dynamics. BMW says the system reacts up to ten times faster than conventional vehicle controllers, creating a more intuitive connection between driver inputs and the vehicle’s responses. Regenerative braking has also been refined to handle nearly all everyday braking situations, resulting in smoother acceleration and deceleration while improving ride comfort.

Long-distance capability is another major highlight. The new iX3 offers a WLTP-rated driving range of up to 805 kilometres, while its 800-volt architecture supports DC fast charging at up to 400kW. Under ideal conditions, drivers can recover up to 372 kilometres of range in just 10 minutes. Intelligent battery pre-conditioning and AI-powered charging features further optimise charging efficiency by automatically preparing the battery before arriving at compatible charging stations.

Inside, BMW introduces an entirely new digital experience through BMW Panoramic iDrive. A 43.3-inch BMW Panoramic Vision projection stretches across the width of the windscreen, displaying essential driving information directly within the driver’s field of view. This is complemented by a new 3D Head-Up Display, a 17.9-inch central touchscreen running BMW Operating System X, and an upgraded BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant capable of learning driver habits and offering proactive suggestions.

The cabin combines advanced technology with premium comfort. M Sport seats featuring massage, heating and memory functions come as standard, alongside a Harman Kardon premium audio system, wireless charging, three-zone climate control and a panoramic glass roof. Practicality is equally impressive with 520 litres of luggage capacity, expandable to 1,750 litres, while a 58-litre front storage compartment makes its debut on a BMW production model.

Externally, the iX3 debuts BMW’s latest design language with cleaner surfaces, illuminated kidney grilles, flush door handles and a more sculpted profile. Riding on staggered 22-inch M light alloy wheels, the SUV also introduces two new exterior colours—Ocean Wave Blue and Polarised Grey—alongside familiar BMW finishes.

Safety and driver assistance have also received a comprehensive upgrade. Driving Assistant Plus, Parking Assistant Professional, BMW Digital Key Plus, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and BMW Digital Premium are all included as standard, supported by an extensive suite of cameras, sensors and radar systems designed to enhance convenience and confidence behind the wheel.

BMW Malaysia continues to support ownership through its “Relax. We Care.” programme, which includes BMW Proactive Care, a five-year unlimited mileage warranty, six years of unlimited mileage service coverage for battery electric vehicles, and an eight-year high-voltage battery warranty. Roadside Assistance and comprehensive aftersales services further strengthen the ownership experience.
The new BMW iX3 50 xDrive M Sport Pro is priced from RM378,800 with BMW Service & Repair Inclusive, while the retail price without the package stands at RM399,800. Customers can also take advantage of BMW Financial Services programmes, including Straight-Line Financing and BMW Easy Drive with Guaranteed Future Value, making the new electric SUV more accessible. The model will be available at authorised BMW dealerships nationwide beginning 8 August.
