Proton has significantly expanded its nationwide retail and aftersales network with the opening of 10 new Proton and Proton e.MAS outlets across Malaysia within a span of just 10 days. The rapid expansion underscores the national automaker’s commitment to improving customer accessibility while strengthening support for its growing range of internal combustion engine (ICE), electric vehicle (EV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) models.
The latest rollout includes four Proton outlets and six Proton e.MAS facilities strategically located across the Central, Northern, Southern, East Coast and East Malaysia regions. Together, they bring vehicle sales, servicing and ownership support closer to customers in both major cities and developing regional markets.
With these additions, Proton continues to reinforce an already extensive dealer network. As of June 2026, the company operates 195 sales outlets nationwide, including 178 integrated 3S and 4S centres. Meanwhile, the Proton e.MAS network has grown to 58 dealerships, supported by 45 service centres and 10 dedicated Body & Paint facilities, providing specialised support for the brand’s expanding electrified vehicle portfolio.
The 10 newly opened outlets represent a combined investment of RM15.9 million by Proton’s dealer partners while creating approximately 210 new employment opportunities across sales, technical services, aftersales and customer support.
Recognising that different communities have different requirements, Proton has introduced a variety of dealership formats. These include traditional Sales and Customer Centres, integrated 3S and 4S facilities, mall-based showrooms, an urban brand centre and a compact mini 3S outlet.
Urban locations such as shopping malls and city centres allow customers to conveniently explore Proton and Proton e.MAS vehicles during their daily routines, while larger regional facilities offer comprehensive sales, servicing and spare parts support under one roof. Selected locations also feature Body & Paint services, further enhancing ownership convenience.
According to Proton Deputy Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Ir. Abdul Rashid Musa, expanding the network is about delivering a better ownership experience rather than simply increasing the number of outlets.
He explained that customer convenience depends not only on proximity but also on the quality of service provided throughout the ownership journey. By working closely with dealer partners, Proton has been able to improve accessibility in busy urban areas while strengthening integrated sales and aftersales capabilities in regional markets. He added that regardless of whether customers choose an ICE, EV or PHEV model, they should have confidence that Proton possesses the facilities, expertise and technical capabilities to support them throughout vehicle ownership.
The expansion also aligns with Proton’s ongoing efforts to modernise its dealership network. Since the second half of 2025, dealerships have progressively adopted the company’s refreshed Corporate Identity, creating a more contemporary retail environment designed to enhance showroom presentation and improve the overall customer experience.
Aftersales services continue to be upgraded through Proton’s “Faster & Better” initiative, which is built around three key customer commitments. These include the FS90 Fast Service programme, a one-day service delivery target that aims to return vehicles within 24 hours, and a maximum three-day work-in-progress period for repairs. These initiatives are supported by the continued implementation of Proton’s 5-Star outlet standards to improve service quality, workshop efficiency and turnaround times across the network.
For Proton e.MAS customers, the growing dealership footprint provides dedicated facilities specifically equipped to support EV and PHEV ownership. Beyond vehicle sales, these centres offer specialised maintenance, repairs and technical expertise tailored to electrified vehicles, ensuring owners have access to comprehensive support throughout the vehicle lifecycle.
The rapid expansion also highlights the important role played by Proton’s dealer partners, whose investments in infrastructure, equipment, skilled personnel and technical capabilities help strengthen the brand’s nationwide presence while creating employment opportunities within local communities.
