OMODA | JAECOO Malaysia marked its second anniversary with a major milestone celebration, commemorating more than 32,000 vehicle deliveries nationwide while officially opening bookings for the all-new JAECOO J5 EV, the brand’s first fully electric model for the Malaysian market.

Held under the theme “Beyond 30,000, Celebrating Every Journey | One Million Forward,” the event brought together customers, dealer partners, business associates and members of the media to celebrate the company’s achievements over the past two years and outline its future growth plans. The occasion also featured the ceremonial handover of 20 new JAECOO J5 vehicles, symbolising the brand’s continued momentum in Malaysia.

Speaking at the event, OMODA | JAECOO Malaysia Head Chris Tan described the milestone as a reflection of the trust and support received from customers and partners since the brand’s arrival in the country.
Over the last two years, OMODA | JAECOO has rapidly established itself as one of Malaysia’s fastest-growing automotive brands. As of July 2026, the company has delivered more than 8,100 vehicles year-to-date, positioning it as the fifth best-selling automotive brand in the country. The achievement underscores the growing popularity of its SUV lineup and highlights Malaysia’s importance as one of the brand’s key overseas markets.
A major contributor to this success has been the JAECOO J5. Since its introduction in March 2026, the premium SUV has recorded over 2,500 deliveries within just four months, making it one of the brand’s strongest-performing models. Its combination of premium design, advanced technology and everyday practicality has resonated strongly with Malaysian buyers.

Building on the success of the J5, OMODA | JAECOO Malaysia used the anniversary celebration to announce the opening of bookings for the new JAECOO J5 EV. Expected to be priced from approximately RM125,000, the electric SUV represents a significant step in the company’s electrification strategy and signals its commitment to expanding its new energy vehicle (NEV) portfolio in Malaysia.
The company’s growing focus on electrification is already reflected in its sales performance. During the first half of 2026, NEV deliveries surged to 2,300 units, compared to just 244 units during the same period in 2025, representing an impressive 843 percent year-on-year increase.

The J5 EV will join OMODA | JAECOO’s expanding lineup of plug-in hybrid models, offering Malaysian consumers a wider choice of powertrains that now spans conventional internal combustion engines, plug-in hybrids and fully electric vehicles.
As it enters the next chapter of its journey in Malaysia, OMODA | JAECOO aims to continue strengthening its presence through innovative products, advanced mobility technologies and enhanced ownership experiences, while accelerating its transition toward a more electrified future.
