PRO-NET has unveiled the new Proton e.MAS 7 Premium Plus at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2026, further strengthening the brand’s position as Malaysia’s leading electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer. The latest addition to the Proton e.MAS lineup represents the next stage in the evolution of the nation’s first national EV, offering enhanced driving range, greater comfort, and a more comprehensive ownership experience.
Since introducing Malaysia’s first national EV in 2024, Proton e.MAS has rapidly expanded its presence in the local market. According to PRO-NET Chief Executive Officer Zhang Qiang, the company’s journey from launching its first EV to becoming Malaysia’s number one EV brand reflects the growing confidence Malaysians have in electrified mobility. Guided by the “Kuasa e.MAS” philosophy, the company continues to focus on making EV ownership more accessible, practical, and rewarding.
The launch of the Proton e.MAS 7 Premium Plus forms a key highlight of Proton e.MAS’s largest showcase yet at KLIMS 2026, themed “Kuasa e.MAS, Powering Malaysia Forward.” The exhibition demonstrates the brand’s expanding electrified ecosystem, featuring advanced technologies, innovative ownership solutions, and a growing portfolio of electric and hybrid vehicles.
Visitors to the Proton e.MAS booth can explore five core technologies that underpin the brand’s mobility strategy. These include the Global Modular Architecture (GMA), Cell-to-Body (CTB) technology, the AEGIS Short Blade Battery, the 11-in-1 Electric Drive System, and Dedicated Hybrid Powertrain technology. The showcase also features the Proton e.MAS 5, Proton e.MAS 7, and Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV, highlighting the company’s commitment to offering diverse electrified mobility options.
The launch comes amid strong market momentum for the brand. The Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV has emerged as Malaysia’s top-selling plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, recording 2,936 deliveries year-to-date, while more than 23,700 Proton e.MAS vehicles are now operating on Malaysian roads.
A key upgrade for the new Premium Plus variant is its larger 68.39kWh AEGIS Short Blade Battery, which delivers an estimated driving range of up to 450km based on the WLTP standard. The extended range is designed to enhance confidence among EV owners, providing greater flexibility for both urban commuting and longer-distance travel.
Beyond improved range, the Premium Plus introduces several comfort-focused features aimed at elevating the driving experience. Both front occupants benefit from dual massage seats, while the front passenger seat now features four-way power adjustment, memory functionality, and an integrated leg rest. These additions are intended to make longer journeys more relaxing and comfortable, positioning the vehicle as a practical choice for families and frequent travellers.
Despite its larger battery capacity, the Proton e.MAS 7 Premium Plus maintains DC fast-charging capability of up to 115kW. This allows the battery to charge from 30% to 80% in approximately 20 minutes, matching the charging performance of the existing Premium variant. Proton e.MAS also claims the Premium Plus is the first vehicle in its segment to combine a WLTP range of up to 450km with dual front massage seats and an integrated passenger leg rest.
To complement the launch, PRO-NET is introducing the Power Pack Plus ownership package, designed to provide added value and convenience for customers. The package includes a complimentary 7kW home charging wallbox, a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) converter, five years of unlimited internet data, a six-year unlimited mileage vehicle warranty, and an eight-year or 160,000km warranty covering the high-voltage battery and related components. Existing Proton owners can also benefit from a RM5,000 trade-in top-up and waived trade-in processing fees, while all customers will receive a complimentary tonneau cover.
The Proton e.MAS 7 Premium Plus carries a recommended retail price of RM125,800 in Peninsular Malaysia and RM128,800 in East Malaysia. For a limited period, Proton e.MAS is offering a special launch rebate of RM7,000, reducing the effective price to RM118,800 and RM121,800 respectively. Similar rebates are available across the Premium and Prime variants, making the lineup even more competitive in Malaysia’s growing EV market.
The new Proton e.MAS 7 Premium Plus is currently on display at Hall 7, Level 2 of MITEC during KLIMS 2026, where visitors can experience the vehicle alongside Proton e.MAS’s latest electrified technologies and future mobility innovations. Through the introduction of this new flagship variant, Proton e.MAS continues to reinforce its ambition of accelerating EV adoption and driving Malaysia’s transition towards a more sustainable transportation future.
