The Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2026 has officially commenced at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), ushering in the 11th edition of the nation’s flagship automotive exhibition. Organised by the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) and managed by Qube Integrated Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., this year’s event embraces the theme “Beyond Mobility,” highlighting the next generation of sustainable transportation and intelligent mobility solutions.
The opening ceremony was officiated by Deputy Minister of Transport, Datuk Haji Hasbi Haji Habibollah, who underscored the significance of KLIMS as a platform for advancing discussions on green transportation, electric vehicle adoption, emissions reduction, and the development of cleaner mobility ecosystems. Also present were Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh, and Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry Secretary-General, Datuk Hairil Yahri Yaacob.
More than just an automotive exhibition, KLIMS 2026 reflects the ongoing transformation of the mobility landscape. The event serves as a showcase for emerging technologies, alternative energy solutions, and sustainable transportation innovations that are reshaping the future of mobility both in Malaysia and globally.
In line with the country’s energy transition agenda, KLIMS 2026 places strong emphasis on the adoption of electrified vehicles (xEVs) and the advancement of green technologies. The exhibition also highlights the automotive sector’s role as a key contributor to economic development, encouraging collaboration between local manufacturers, small and medium enterprises, and international industry players. These partnerships are expected to strengthen Malaysia’s standing as a regional centre for automotive innovation and technology.
Addressing attendees during the launch, Datuk Hasbi noted that rapid progress in electrification, connected technologies, intelligent transport systems, automation, and alternative energy is fundamentally changing how vehicles are designed and how cities are planned. He stressed that while innovation remains important, safety must remain a core consideration in the development of future mobility solutions. According to him, cleaner and more connected transportation systems should also contribute to safer roads and better protection for all road users.
MAA President and KLIMS 2026 Organising Committee Chairman, Mohd Shamsor Mohd Zain, highlighted how the concept of mobility has evolved far beyond traditional transportation. He explained that modern mobility now encompasses the way cities operate, how technology links communities, and how sustainable solutions improve everyday life. The “Beyond Mobility” theme reflects this shift, showcasing how the automotive industry is expanding into a broader ecosystem driven by intelligence, connectivity, and innovation.
The grand opening attracted more than 900 guests and industry stakeholders, setting the stage for a comprehensive display of automotive advancements. Visitors can expect exclusive vehicle debuts, new model launches, and futuristic concept cars from 18 participating automotive brands, offering a glimpse into the next chapter of mobility.
Beyond the vehicles on display, KLIMS 2026 promises a wide range of interactive automotive and lifestyle experiences designed to engage visitors of all ages. Attendees will also have the opportunity to win prizes worth a combined RM125,000, including a Perodua Bezza as the grand prize.
Running from 12 to 21 June at MITEC, KLIMS 2026 stands as a celebration of innovation, sustainability, and the evolving future of transportation. As Malaysia continues its journey towards cleaner and smarter mobility solutions, the exhibition provides a valuable platform for industry leaders, policymakers, and consumers to explore the technologies and ideas that will shape the roads of tomorrow.
