PRO-NET has marked a significant presence at the Penang Autoshow 2026 with two major highlights that underscore its growing influence in Malaysia’s electric vehicle (EV) landscape. The company unveiled a striking new Jade Green exterior for the Proton e.MAS 5 while also introducing its advanced Global Modular Architecture (GMA) platform to Northern Malaysia for the very first time.

Taking centre stage at the show, the Proton e.MAS 5—currently Malaysia’s top-selling EV model with over 8,000 units delivered in 2026—captured attention with its fresh new look. The Jade Green finish adds a layer of sophistication and individuality, complementing the model’s reputation for accessibility and performance. Alongside it, visitors were also treated to the Emerald Green Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV, further expanding the brand’s electrified lineup.

A key technological highlight of the showcase is the debut of PRO-NET’s Global Modular Architecture platform in the northern region. Designed with flexibility and performance in mind, the GMA platform integrates advanced features such as a highly integrated motor system, high-strength steel construction, and enhanced driving dynamics. This platform forms the backbone of PRO-NET’s EV and plug-in hybrid offerings, reflecting its long-term strategy to build a more informed and future-ready mobility ecosystem.

According to PRO-NET CEO Zhang Qiang, the company’s mission extends beyond selling vehicles—it is about accelerating EV adoption by making the technology more approachable. He emphasized that introducing the GMA platform in Northern Malaysia allows more consumers to experience firsthand how EVs differ from traditional internal combustion engine vehicles, while the new e.MAS 5 colour option enhances customer choice.

The northern region is quickly emerging as a stronghold for EV adoption. As of March 2026, Proton e.MAS commands an impressive 64.2% market share in the area, driven by favourable conditions such as a higher proportion of landed homes that support easy installation of private charging systems. The steady expansion of public charging infrastructure has also played a vital role in boosting consumer confidence and accessibility.

Visitors to the autoshow are invited to engage directly with the Proton e.MAS lineup, including the e.MAS 5, e.MAS 7, and e.MAS 7 PHEV, through on-site test drives running from 1 to 3 May. Enhancing the experience further is the Proton e.MAS Golden Test Drive Campaign, which offers participants a chance to win gold rewards.

Running from mid-April to mid-May, the campaign revolves around the theme “30 Gold Bars in 30 Days,” with a total of 30 gold bars up for grabs over five weeks. Participants simply need to visit a participating showroom, test drive a Proton e.MAS vehicle, make a booking, and submit their entry through the dealer.

With strong product appeal, cutting-edge technology, and growing regional momentum, PRO-NET’s showcase at the Penang Autoshow 2026 reflects a brand firmly positioned at the forefront of Malaysia’s electric mobility revolution.
