Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has expanded its AMG portfolio with the introduction of the new Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupé Nightfall Edition, a locally assembled special edition model that blends aggressive styling, advanced technology, and exhilarating performance. Following the debut of the GLA Nightfall Edition, this latest release continues the brand’s strategy of offering more distinctive and personalised vehicles for Malaysian customers seeking a sportier luxury experience.
The Nightfall Edition elevates the visual presence of the AMG GLC Coupé through a series of darkened design enhancements. Building upon the AMG Exterior Night Package, the vehicle introduces the AMG Night Package Exterior II, which adds dark chrome finishes across several exterior components. These include the radiator grille slats, rear badging, fender emblems, and rear star emblem, creating a more assertive and premium appearance. A silver chrome AMG fuel filler cap with black accents further reinforces the performance-focused identity of the SUV coupé.
Beyond aesthetics, the special edition also enhances the emotional connection between driver and machine through the AMG Real Performance Sound system. Drivers can customise the exhaust note between more subtle and aggressive sound profiles using either a dedicated button or the touchscreen interface, delivering a more immersive AMG driving experience.
At the heart of the Nightfall Edition lies AMG’s handcrafted 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine, developed under the renowned “One Man, One Engine” philosophy in Affalterbach. Producing 421 hp and 500 Nm of torque, the engine is paired with a second-generation 48-volt mild hybrid system featuring a belt-driven starter generator. This setup contributes an additional temporary boost of 14 hp while also supporting coasting and energy recuperation functions for improved efficiency and smoother operation.
Performance remains a defining characteristic of the new AMG GLC Coupé. The SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. Rear-axle steering with up to 2.5 degrees of adjustment further sharpens agility while improving stability and manoeuvrability in varying driving conditions.
The vehicle’s muscular stance is complemented by a wide track setup and striking 21-inch AMG Y-spoke light-alloy wheels paired with silver-painted brake callipers. DIGITAL LIGHT headlamps also enhance visibility by adapting illumination patterns according to road and traffic conditions.
Inside the cabin, the Nightfall Edition combines sporty elements with luxury refinement. AMG sport seats upholstered in ARTICO man-made leather are matched with AMG carbon-fibre trim and an AMG Performance steering wheel wrapped in nappa leather. The MBUX infotainment system incorporates AMG-specific displays and driving functions, while the Burmester® 3D surround sound system delivers a premium audio experience for occupants.
The locally assembled Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupé Nightfall Edition is priced at RM518,888 on-the-road without insurance for Peninsular Malaysia.
