Continental Tyres has officially introduced its latest all-terrain innovation in Malaysia with the launch of the CrossContact A/T², a tyre engineered to deliver a strong balance between off-road durability and on-road comfort. Designed for SUVs, 4x4s, and light trucks, the new model signals the company’s continued expansion in the growing utility vehicle segment across the region.

Developed with insights drawn from real driving conditions in key Asia-Pacific markets, including Malaysia, the CrossContact A/T² reflects Continental’s customer-centric approach to tyre innovation. According to Andrea Somorova, Managing Director of Malaysia and Head of ASEAN at Continental Tyres, the product was built around the needs of drivers who regularly face varied road surfaces and unpredictable weather conditions.

“Every tyre we build starts with a deep understanding of our customers’ needs,” Somorova said, highlighting how local driving environments shaped the development process. The goal, she added, is to ensure drivers feel confident regardless of terrain or conditions.

Positioned for adventurous and utility-focused lifestyles, the CrossContact A/T² is designed to handle demanding environments such as steep inclines, loose gravel, muddy trails, and wet roads. Despite its rugged focus, it retains a strong emphasis on ride comfort and stability for everyday driving.

Key performance enhancements include improved traction through deeper tread design, higher void volume, and self-cleaning shoulder structures. These features help the tyre maintain grip and stability on uneven or slippery surfaces while enhancing handling precision during high-stress maneuvers.

Durability is another core strength of the design. Reinforced sidewalls and rigid tread construction reduce vulnerability to punctures, abrasions, and impact damage, making it suitable for long-distance travel and worksite use. Meanwhile, Continental’s proprietary BlackPaw™ Compound enhances adaptability across changing road and weather conditions, ensuring consistent grip performance.

The product is available in one of the widest size portfolios in Malaysia, offering 42 variants ranging from 15-inch to 22-inch rim diameters. With load range E capability on selected models, the tyre is built to support heavier loads while maintaining stability under demanding usage scenarios.
