Car enthusiasts, mark your calendars for 8–10 August 2025 — the Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur 2025 (TASKL25) is roaring back to the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), promising a spectacle that blends the very best of Japanese automotive artistry with the rising stars of Malaysia’s tuning scene. With lower ticket prices, fresh exhibits, and legendary personalities, this year’s show is set to be the most accessible and electrifying edition yet.
For the third consecutive year, Smokey Nagata of Top Secret leads a star-studded lineup of Japan’s tuning elite. Joining him are Liberty Walk’s Wataru Kato, RE Amemiya founder Isami Amemiya, KUHL Racing’s Takahiro Kataoka, J’S Racing’s Hisaaki Murakami, and the “Father of the Modern GT-R” Hiroshi Tamura, making his much-anticipated return following a stellar debut in 2024.
The exhibit hall will be home to several iconic and boundary-pushing builds flown in directly from Japan:
- Top Secret VR32 Stealth GT-R: An engineering marvel that fuses a classic BNR32 body with an R35 powertrain producing a monstrous 1072 hp — a one-of-a-kind build straight from Smokey’s workshop.
- Liberty Walk Ferrari F40: A head-turner that stunned the world with its extreme wide-body kit, so bold it was reportedly delisted from Ferrari’s official registry.
- Super Silhouette ER34: A tribute to Masahiro Hasemi’s 1980s Super Silhouette Skyline, complete with iconic red-and-black Tomica-style livery.
- CREWCH Delusion GT-R R356C: A next-gen GT-R concept that blends futuristic design with supercar flair.
- RE Amemiya MATSUKIYO KIZAMI 3ROTAR NA-7: A rotary-powered beast with a custom body derived from an FD RX-7, featuring a 435 hp RE20B engine.
- ALESS Century Complete WL: A 4960cc, 518 hp luxury sedan that merges elegance with aggressive ROZEL styling and air suspension.
For the first time ever, Malaysia’s Finest Tuners (MFT) will have a dedicated showcase, celebrating the local scene’s best builds and bridging cross-cultural tuning inspirations between Japan and Malaysia.
“The Japanese legends keep returning because they are impressed by the depth of Malaysia’s tuning scene,” shared Jason Yap, CEO of Element X Strategies, the official TASKL25 organiser and licensee. “TASKL is now becoming a two-way celebration.”
TASKL25 is more than just an automotive showcase — it’s a full-blown lifestyle festival featuring:
- Auto styling competition judged by Japanese legends
- Car club gatherings and rare car collections
- Mini Tokyo Auto Salon (Mini TAS) and diecast booths in partnership with The Model Car Show Malaysia, including the release of limited-run Toyota Supra MK4 chase cars

- Sim racing competitions and meet-and-greets with racing driver and AUTOBACS ambassador Zen Low
In a surprising and elegant twist, TASKL25 will also partner with LEXUS and the Equestrian Association of Malaysia to sponsor the Prime Minister Cup CSI1*, a SEA Games Qualifier set for 25–27 July 2025 at the Kuala Lumpur Polo Club. This partnership highlights the shared essence of performance, grace, and lifestyle excellence.
