Malaysia Autoshow 2025 officially opened its doors, marking a bold leap into the future of mobility and positioning the country as a regional leader in next-generation transportation solutions. With over 200 exhibitors and more than 500 vehicles on display, this year’s edition is the largest yet—offering an unprecedented showcase of electric vehicles (EVs), cutting-edge automotive technology, and immersive visitor experiences.
Held across a sprawling 50,000 square meters, the event is a full-spectrum reflection of the modern automotive ecosystem, bringing together OEMs, component suppliers, financial institutions, and EV infrastructure providers. Organized by the Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii), the Autoshow continues to be a cornerstone of the country’s automotive evolution.
The grand launch was officiated by YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), who underscored the strategic importance of the Autoshow in Malaysia’s transition towards sustainable, high-value manufacturing. “With Malaysia set to chair ASEAN in 2025, we are committed to driving the region’s e-mobility agenda and cementing our status as a hub for green and next-gen mobility,” he said. His remarks highlighted how the show aligns with national policies like the National Automotive Policy (NAP), the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030), and the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR).
Malaysia Autoshow 2025 isn’t just a static exhibition; it’s a dynamic, hands-on journey into the heart of future mobility. Featuring over 70 new vehicle launches—including EVs, motorcycles, and alternative mobility solutions—the event allows visitors to test over 100 models on a purpose-built 5.1-kilometre track certified by the ASEAN Records as the region’s largest outdoor obstacle test zone. The test track simulates real-world driving conditions, with areas designed to evaluate advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), off-road capabilities, and motorcycle agility.
MARii CEO Azrul Reza Aziz emphasized the show’s role as a catalyst for industry growth and public engagement. “This is more than an exhibition—it’s a platform that connects consumers to the future of mobility. From test drives to learning about EV infrastructure and even vehicle purchases, MAS 2025 offers a complete automotive experience.”
The show’s highlights include the ASEAN Unity Drive 2025—a 9,000km regional convoy promoting cross-border collaboration—and dedicated pavilions for the Cars of the Year, showcasing award-winning models and smart vehicle technologies. Also drawing attention is the new 4×4 Experience Zone, which challenges drivers with obstacles like steep inclines, water crossings, and rock crawls.
With Malaysia’s Total Industry Volume reaching 816,747 units in 2024, the nation currently ranks second in Southeast Asia and 23rd globally. The EV sector, in particular, is seeing rapid acceleration, with nearly 9,850 EV and hybrid units sold in just the first quarter of 2025.
Beyond the showroom floor, MAS 2025 offers a festival-like atmosphere catering to every demographic. From the Car Modified Showcase and Women’s Day celebrations to education-driven events like the Automotive Career Fair and ASEAN Automotive Intervarsity Debate, the show brings together enthusiasts, families, and industry stakeholders. Notable figures such as racing driver Jazeman Jaafar and solo world motorcyclist Anita Yusof will inspire visitors with their stories. Entertainment highlights include the much-anticipated Tesla Light Show and Konsert Rentak Elektrik, powered by BYD.
With more than 250,000 visitors expected, Malaysia Autoshow 2025 reaffirms its role not only as the largest automotive event in the country but as a vital platform shaping the future of transportation in Southeast Asia.
