In a groundbreaking move, Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) has officially introduced the fourth-generation Tucson to the Malaysian market. Just a week after revealing the model and opening order books, the Tucson emerges as a key contender in the fiercely competitive C-SUV segment.
The new Tucson boasts a revolutionary ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design, a departure from its predecessor, with attention-grabbing elements such as concealed daytime running lights within a Parametric Jewel grille, full-width tail lamps, angular wheel arches, and intricately chiselled surfaces. Inside, the modern and enveloping wrap-around interior showcases a button-less center stack under an eight-inch infotainment touch-screen, featuring wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay and voice recognition. 
Imported directly from South Korea (CBU), the Tucson is available in three front-wheel-drive variants: 2.0 Lite, 1.6T Plus, and 1.6T Max. The 2.0 Lite is equipped with a Smartstream MPI engine, producing 156 PS and 192 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The other two variants feature a turbocharged Smartstream 1.6 TGDi engine, generating 180 PS and 265 Nm of torque, coupled with a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission (DCT) featuring push-button gear selection. 
Across all variants, the Tucson prioritizes safety with seven airbags, including a front-thorax airbag, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, Blind Spot Collision Warning, and Safe Exit Warning. The range-topping 1.6T Max offers exclusive features such as eight-way powered and heated/ventilated front seats, a fully digital 10.25-inch instrument panel, a power tailgate, auto wipers, wireless phone charging, and a comprehensive Hyundai SmartSense safety suite, including Smart Cruise Control. 
Color options include Amazon Gray Metallic, Phantom Black Pearl, Creamy White Pearl, Crimson Red Pearl, with Silky Bronze Metallic exclusively available for select variants. The pricing, on-the-road before insurance, is set at RM158,888 for the 2.0 Lite, RM178,888 for the 1.6T Plus, and RM195,888 for the 1.6T Max. To sweeten the deal, the first 100 customers who book on or before December 31, 2023, will receive a complimentary extended warranty (five years/300,000 km*) and a free service package (three years/50,000 km*). Post this promotional period, the package will be available at RM10,000.
