Mercedes Benz Malaysia has recently introduced their latest electric vehicle to the Malaysian market, the Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4Matic SUV. This represents a significant addition to their local lineup, embodying the perfect blend of innovative technology and timeless elegance.
The EQS SUV showcases a remarkable design that seamlessly combines functionality, aerodynamics, and aesthetics. Its exterior features smooth surfaces with minimal seams, giving it a sleek and elegant appearance that reflects the concept of Sensual Purity. Even as a seven-seater, the EQS SUV maintains dynamic proportions. The front end boasts a ‘Black Panel’ unit with integrated headlamps and a distinctive black grille. Three small triangles create distinctive daytime running lights, and the illuminated light modules form an eye-catching three-dimensional hexagon pattern. The DIGITAL LIGHT with a light band is standard, while the AMG Line Exterior enhances the front design, emphasizing its seamless pattern and muscular appearance. 
From the side, the EQS SUV exudes aerodynamic efficiency with a forward-leaning front end, a gently sloping A-pillar, a black roof contour, and a rearward-sloping C-pillar, ensuring a spacious interior. The large 22-inch wheels and muscular shoulder section give it a sporty aesthetic. Exterior mirrors are elegantly positioned on the shoulders, and black wheel arch claddings and side sill panels create an impression of reduced volume. Illuminated running boards in aluminum look contribute to improved aerodynamics and electric range. Standard features include flush door handles and a panoramic sunroof. 
At the rear, the LED lights are designed in a unique 3D helix pattern, combined with a light band to create a distinctive light signature. The tailgate seamlessly integrates with the bumper, and the lower section of the rear bumper continues the black theme with a chrome element and an aerodynamic spoiler lip. Despite its spaciousness and short rear overhang, the EQS SUV maintains an excellent Cd value of 0.26, thanks to aerodynamic optimizations inspired by Formula 1 cars, such as turbulators and aerodynamic running boards that direct airflow and enhance aerodynamics. 
Inside, the EQS SUV offers a serene environment, thanks to aeroacoustic windows that minimize external noise. It comfortably accommodates up to seven passengers with a luggage compartment ranging from 195 liters with all seats up to an impressive 2100 liters when all seats are folded down. The interior features electrically adjustable seats with memory function, lumbar support, seat heating, climate-controlled seats, and ambient lighting, reflecting the quintessential Mercedes experience. 
Much like the EQS Sedan, the EQS SUV features the futuristic MBUX Hyperscreen—a large curved display housing three screens for the driver, central infotainment, and front passenger. This MBUX system runs the latest generation MBUX, offering extensive personalization options, voice assistance, and connectivity functions, as well as the innovative MBUX Interior Assistant, which uses cameras and learning algorithms to ensure passenger safety by understanding occupants’ intentions. 
In the rear seats, the EQS SUV provides rear seat entertainment with two 11.6-inch displays. Additionally, it offers spatial audio as part of the Dolby Atmos technology and access to online music streaming for onboard passengers. 
Under the hood, the EQS SUV is powered by a 108.4 kWh battery, offering an estimated range of 615 km. Two electric motors deliver a maximum output of 544 hp and a peak torque of 858 Nm. This electric SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 210 km/h. Charging times vary, with a 22 kW AC charger taking 5 hours and 30 minutes to go from 0 to 100%, while a 200 kW DC charger gets the EQS SUV from 0 to 80% in a mere 31 minutes.
For a smooth and comfortable ride, the EQS SUV comes standard with AIRMATIC air suspension, which can raise the SUV by up to 25 mm for added ground clearance. The addition of rear axle steering, with up to 10 degrees of movement, further enhances the SUV’s maneuverability. The EQS SUV also includes an OFFROAD driving mode to tackle various road conditions effectively.
The Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV is available at a price of RM 699,888 and comes with a 4-year free maintenance package and a 4-year warranty. For added peace of mind, Mercedes Benz Malaysia also offers a 10-year battery warranty for this remarkable electric SUV.
