In collaboration with its exclusive distributor in Malaysia, Sime Darby Auto Connexion, Ford Motor Company is commemorating the annual Global Caring Month by offering vital support to essential community initiatives.

Ford Motor Company Fund, the philanthropic arm of Ford Motor Company, has allocated a total of US$20,000 (RM94,000) in grants to two non-profit organizations in Malaysia: Global Peace Foundation Malaysia and Peninsula Malaysia Orang Asli Foundation. These grants are intended to bolster projects focused on the restoration of houses and the improvement of school facilities.

A significant portion of the US$10,000 grant will be awarded to Global Peace Festival Malaysia, a non-religious, non-partisan, and non-profit organization dedicated to the refurbishment of homes and the enhancement of food supplies for 17 families. Additionally, Global Peace Festival Malaysia will be organizing cooking sessions for communities to assist them in food preparation.

Global Peace Festival Malaysia has undertaken a decade-long mission to strengthen and unite Orang Asli communities, both in Peninsular and East Malaysia. Their comprehensive programs address the specific needs of each community, ranging from basic necessities to access to education, livelihood opportunities, and economic empowerment.

Peninsula Malaysia Orang Asli Association, another Malaysian non-profit organization, is also a beneficiary of the grant. They plan to utilize the funding to restore and upgrade school facilities, including classrooms, libraries, computer labs, and other essential amenities, in rural areas. Founded by Orang Asli community members, the Peninsula Malaysia Orang Asli Association team has been actively working to uplift communities through initiatives such as flood assistance, healthcare support, food distribution, and cultural gatherings.

Global Caring Month is a global initiative established by the Ford Volunteer Corps, a network comprising thousands of Ford employees and retirees, overseen by the Ford Motor Company Fund. The 2023 Global Caring Month marks the eighteenth year of their unwavering commitment to creating a meaningful worldwide impact, strengthening communities, and improving the lives of people across the globe.
