Volvo Cars recently expanded their model line up with a brand new small SUV named the Volvo EX30, where they will bring safety and sustainability to a whole new level. It comes with the smallest CO2 footprint among all Volvo cars and combines cutting-edge technology with sleek Scandinavian design to enhance people’s lives.

The EX30 encapsulates Volvo’s design values in a compact package. It features a balanced and refined exterior with a long wheelbase, large wheels, and equal overhangs. Its electric nature is evident through its confident face, closed shield, and digital rendition of the iconic Thor’s Hammer headlights.

When it comes to powertrains, Volvo offers customers the flexibility to choose the battery technology that suits their needs. The EX30 comes with three powertrain options and two battery types, making the entry price pretty attractive. For the city and short distance drive between charges, the single-motor option with LFP battery is the most cost-effective option.

For those seeking maximum range, Volvo offers the Single Motor Extended Range variant with an NMC extended-range battery with a maximum range of 480km on a full charge. The NMC battery is more efficient, thanks to its lithium, nickel, manganese, and cobalt composition. And for those who wanted more performance, Volvo also offer the Twin Motor Performance variant to suit their needs. This variant is paired with the NMC battery with an additional second e-motor, resulting in an all-wheel drive EX30. It delivers an impressive 315kW (428hp) and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds.

In terms of charging, the EX30 has the ability to be charged up to 153kW for the Twin Motor variant. As for the standard range model, the charging speed is limited to 134kW. This means that the EX30 can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in a little over 25 minutes. Owners can conveniently set the amperage, maximum charging level, and preferred charging time through the SUV’s centre display and app.

With its smaller footprint, the EX30 is the most environmentally friendly Volvo car yet, with the lowest carbon footprint. Volvo’s goal for sustainability has led them to address emissions throughout the production and lifecycle of the vehicle, as well as the use of materials. As a result, they have managed to reduce the total carbon footprint of the EX30 to below 30 tonnes over a distance of 200,000 kms.

The EX30 also comes with a special safety feature for bikes that helps prevent accidents when opening the door in front of a cyclist, biker, or runner. Inside the car, the EX30 offers convenience, relaxation, and enjoyment through cutting-edge technology and thoughtful Scandinavian interior design. There are four distinct interior options to choose from, each with its own unique style, and the cabin provides smart storage solutions.

The infotainment system of the EX30 features a single-screen user experience with Google integration and the latest version of our technology. There are also the next generation Park Pilot Assist feature, which makes parking in various types of spaces effortless, including parallel, curved, perpendicular, and diagonal fishbone-style parking.

On top of that, the EX30 offers a convenient digital key feature, allowing easy sharing of the car and compatibility with various phone brands and models through advanced UWB and CCC industry standards. There is also a dedicated app for the car that provides essential services such as charging, locating the car in a crowded parking lot, locking it, and heating it on cold days. The EX30 can also receive over-the-air software updates for continuous improvement.

In addition, the Volvo EX30 offers a selection of five ambient lighting themes inspired by different Scandinavian landscapes. These themes subtly change colors, creating a calming atmosphere inside the car. You can also pair each lighting theme with an ambient soundscape for a more immersive experience.
