The third edition of the Volvo Padel Open has wrapped up on a high note, with Padel Pushers x APC emerging as champions of what has become Malaysia’s largest padel tournament. Held from 23 to 25 October 2026, the event brought together eight of the country’s leading padel communities for three days of competitive action, camaraderie and community celebration. Sanctioned by the Selangor Padel Association, this year’s tournament marked its biggest community-led edition yet, placing the spotlight on the clubs and players contributing to the rapid growth of padel in Malaysia.

Unlike conventional tournaments centred primarily on individual performance, the Volvo Padel Open 2026 adopted a community-based format, with competitors representing their respective clubs. Every match carried significance beyond the individual result, as victories contributed to each community’s overall standing in the race for the championship. Eight communities took part in this year’s competition: All’Bout Padel, Baby Buaya Posse, Jerung Padel Club, Kelab Padel Pop x ABBT, Padé x LGK, Padel Hood, Padel Pushers x APC and Wolfpack Padel.

The tournament also expanded opportunities for players of different experience levels to participate. While Silver and Gold category competitors were registered through their respective communities, Bronze-level players earned their places through dedicated community qualifiers. This provided newcomers with an opportunity to progress from their local courts to a larger competitive stage, alongside more experienced players. Organised in partnership with Invictus Blue, redONE and Tactical Padel, the three-day event also featured support from Dox Digital, SKINTIFIC, NESCAFÉ GOLD, Padé Langkawi and Directors Think Tank, adding to the overall tournament experience.

Beyond the action on court, the defining feature of this year’s competition was the strong sense of belonging among participating communities. Supporters turned up in their respective club colours, cheering on teammates and celebrating every hard-fought rally. The atmosphere was further elevated by a community march-in, where players and supporters entered the arena carrying their club flags and colours, showcasing the identities of the groups they represented.

According to Patricia Yaw, Sales & Marketing Director of Volvo Car Malaysia, the community spirit was particularly noticeable throughout this year’s edition. She noted that players and supporters were actively rallying behind one another, celebrating every point and demonstrating genuine camaraderie both on and off the court. For Volvo Car Malaysia, this was precisely the kind of environment the tournament aimed to create, bringing people together through a shared interest while giving the country’s growing padel community a platform to connect and compete.

The Grand Finals provided a fitting conclusion to the tournament, with players, families and spectators gathering to witness the final battles for the community title. After three days of competition, Padel Pushers x APC secured the overall championship, taking home the coveted trophy and prizes worth RM61,200.

Kelab Padel Pop x ABBT finished second after an impressive campaign, earning prizes worth up to RM45,500, while Wolfpack Padel claimed third place and prizes worth RM30,000. The results reflected the competitive depth of the participating communities, with each team bringing its own strengths and supporters to the tournament.

While the championship trophy provided a clear winner, the Volvo Padel Open 2026 ultimately highlighted something bigger than the results. By creating opportunities for newcomers and experienced players to compete within the same community-driven environment, the tournament demonstrated how grassroots participation can help strengthen Malaysia’s developing padel scene.

The format also encouraged closer relationships between players, clubs and supporters, turning the competition into a shared experience rather than simply a series of matches.
