Tesla has announced a series of updates for its Malaysian line-up, introducing Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) Powershare across all its current models, refreshing the interior and hardware of the Model 3, and opening reservations for its highly anticipated next-generation Roadster. The latest developments highlight Tesla’s continued focus on expanding vehicle functionality, enhancing the ownership experience and strengthening its presence in Malaysia, supported by an expanding charging network and limited-time purchase incentives.
One of the key announcements is the introduction of V2L Powershare to the Model 3, Model Y and Model Y L. With this addition, all Tesla vehicles in the current line-up are now capable of supplying power to external devices. Using a compatible Tesla Outlet Adapter, owners can draw electricity directly from their vehicle’s battery through the charging port, which functions as a 230V outlet with an output of up to 13A.
This allows owners to power a variety of electrical equipment, including lamps, small household appliances, power tools and other compatible devices. The feature could prove particularly useful during outdoor activities, work at remote locations or situations where a conventional power source is unavailable. By making the vehicle’s battery useful beyond driving, V2L Powershare adds another layer of versatility to Tesla ownership, turning the car into a mobile power source when needed.
The Model 3 also receives a series of interior and hardware updates, with every new unit now featuring a black headliner and a larger 16-inch central touchscreen. Customers configuring their vehicles can additionally opt for the new Zen Grey interior and 19-inch Dark Nova wheels, offering more choices for personalising the electric sedan.
Beyond these changes, the Model 3 continues to emphasise safety, efficiency, performance and technology. Tesla highlights its safety credentials across several international assessment organisations, including the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), Euro NCAP in Europe, ANCAP in Australia and New Zealand, and C-IASI in China.
In terms of performance, the Model 3 offers a claimed driving range of up to 750 km under the WLTP testing cycle, while acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes as little as 3.1 seconds, depending on the variant. In Malaysia, the Model 3 is available to order with prices starting from RM149,000 and advertised monthly payments from RM1,148. Customers can explore the available configurations and place their orders through the official Tesla Model 3 website.
For enthusiasts looking for something considerably more performance-focused, Tesla has also opened reservations for its new Roadster in the United States and selected international markets, including Malaysia. Described by Tesla as the ultimate expression of the human-driven car, the upcoming Roadster draws design inspiration from high-performance aircraft such as the SR-71 and F-35. The concept aims to deliver an experience that combines dramatic styling with performance beyond what is offered by Tesla’s existing Plaid models.
The company also points to its planned SpaceX components as part of the Roadster’s promise of a radically different driving experience. However, further details on the final production specifications and performance figures have yet to be confirmed in the information provided. Production is scheduled to begin in 2028, with left-hand-drive vehicles planned initially. This means Malaysian customers should take note that the announced production configuration is not yet suited to the country’s right-hand-drive market. Interested buyers can register their interest through the official Tesla Roadster reservation page, while additional information is available on the Tesla Roadster website.
Alongside its vehicle updates, Tesla Malaysia is continuing to expand its charging infrastructure to support local owners and drivers travelling across the region. The company currently operates 21 Supercharger sites across Malaysia, offering a total of 92 Superchargers. Its Destination Charging network comprises another 18 locations equipped with 78 Wall Connectors. Six additional charging sites are planned to come online by the end of 2026, covering Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Perak, Seremban and Penang.

Tesla also reports that more than 13,000 households in Malaysia have been enabled to charge their vehicles at home, giving owners another convenient option for keeping their cars ready for daily use. The growing network is intended to make longer journeys more practical, including cross-border travel between Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. High-speed charging along key regional routes can support tourism, business trips and other long-distance travel. Tesla further offers cross-border warranty coverage, service access and connectivity across these markets, providing additional support for owners travelling beyond Malaysia.
To encourage more customers to make the switch to electric mobility, Tesla is offering several purchase incentives for the Model 3, Model Y and Model Y L.
The current offers include the following:
| Model | Financing promotion | Trade-in rebate |
| Model 3 | Fixed interest rate from 0% | Up to RM10,000 |
| Model Y | Fixed interest rate from 0.88% | RM15,000 |
Customers should check the applicable terms and conditions to determine eligibility and whether the financing and trade-in offers can be combined. Tesla is also promoting its Refer and Earn programme, which rewards existing owners who introduce new customers to the brand.
Under the programme, eligible referrals can receive RM1,000 off a new Tesla purchase, while the referring owner receives RM500 in Tesla Credits. These credits can be redeemed for eligible benefits, including Supercharging credits and software upgrades. The programme provides existing owners with an additional incentive to recommend Tesla vehicles to friends and family while giving prospective buyers a potential saving on their purchase.
Customers interested in the updated Model 3, Model Y or Model Y L can visit Tesla experience locations across Malaysia to explore the vehicles and arrange a test drive. Test-drive registrations are available through the official Tesla Malaysia website, while enquiries can be directed to Tesla Malaysia’s toll-free hotline at 1-800-810-655.
