PRO-NET is bringing the Proton e.MAS experience to Sabah this week, giving motorists in Kota Kinabalu the chance to get behind the wheel of Malaysia’s leading national EV brand through a five-day roadshow at Suria Sabah. Held at the Main Atrium on the Ground Floor from 7 to 11 October 2026, the roadshow runs daily from 10.00am to 10.00pm and features the full Proton e.MAS line-up, alongside test drives, ownership information, special promotions and activities for visitors.
The showcase comes as Proton e.MAS continues to build momentum in Malaysia’s rapidly expanding electric vehicle market. The brand recently passed the 40,000-vehicle delivery milestone within 20 months of the e.MAS 7’s introduction, underlining its growing presence among Malaysian EV buyers. For Sabahans who are curious about making the switch to electrified mobility, the roadshow provides an opportunity to experience the vehicles firsthand while speaking directly with the Proton e.MAS team about charging, ownership and aftersales support.
“Buying a car is an important decision, and we want our customers in Sabah to see our vehicles up close, experience them for themselves and have open conversations with our team,” said Puan Salawati Mohd Yusoff, Chief Branding Officer of PRO-NET. “Whether they’re considering making the switch or simply curious about EVs, we welcome everyone to come and discover what Proton e.MAS has to offer.”
Visitors to Suria Sabah will be able to explore all three models currently offered under the Proton e.MAS brand. These include the Proton e.MAS 5, which is positioned as Malaysia’s No. 1 EV model, the e.MAS 7, Malaysia’s first national EV, and the e.MAS 7 PHEV, which is described as Malaysia’s best-selling plug-in hybrid.
Test drives will be available throughout the five-day event, allowing visitors to experience the models on the road while learning more about their respective features and ownership requirements. PRO-NET is also using the event to strengthen awareness of the wider ecosystem supporting Proton e.MAS ownership in Sabah and across Malaysia.
The brand currently has 60 dealerships nationwide, supported by more than 1,600 trained sales and aftersales personnel. PRO-NET plans to expand its network to 70 outlets by the end of 2026, comprising 57 service centres and 14 Body & Paint centres. Charging infrastructure is another key component of the ownership proposition. The Proton e.MAS Live Charging Map now features more than 5,100 charging points, with real-time availability accessible through both the vehicles’ navigation system and the Proton e.MAS app.
For customers living in high-rise residences, the app also provides information on more than 2,000 charging points located across over 700 apartments and condominiums. According to PRO-NET, expanding its presence in Sabah is part of a broader effort to ensure customers outside Peninsular Malaysia have access not only to its vehicles, but also to the sales, service and charging support needed for everyday EV ownership.
“Sabah is an important market for us. We’re continuing to build our nationwide sales, service and charging support to make EV ownership more accessible and practical,” Salawati added. “We also want to better understand what local drivers are looking for and how we can serve them better.”
Beyond the opportunity to experience the vehicles, visitors can also take advantage of several special offers during the Suria Sabah roadshow. Proton e.MAS customers can enjoy free wallbox installation, overtrade support of up to RM10,000 and a special 2.1% bank interest rate from Affin Bank.
Customers who place a Proton e.MAS booking during the event will also receive a 10% discount at Montanic Adventure Store. The five-day showcase will feature activities beyond the vehicles, including the “Find MECCHA CHAMELEON” activity, with ZUS cans available while stocks last. On 10 and 11 October, the PRO-NET Training Team will also conduct EV sharing sessions featuring product presentations and opportunities for visitors to ask questions about electric vehicle technology, charging and ownership.
Brilliant Solar will also be present at the roadshow, offering up to 2% off a solar system to eligible visitors who consult with its solar team, sign up for a system and pay a RM1,000 deposit on-site. The first 20 eligible customers will additionally receive RM100 in Touch ‘n Go eWallet credit, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.
