The 15th edition of Art of Speed (AOS) returned to the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) on 1 and 2 August 2026, bringing together thousands of automotive enthusiasts, custom builders, artists and music fans for one of the country’s largest celebrations of Kustom Kulture. The annual festival combined custom vehicles, live entertainment, lifestyle attractions and international collaborations, further cementing its standing as a major event on Malaysia’s automotive calendar.

One of the defining features of this year’s event was its expanded Summer Festival concept, which broadened the festival’s appeal beyond custom cars and motorcycles. Visitors were treated to a diverse programme that included vehicle displays, creative exhibitions, live performances and family-friendly activities, creating a more immersive festival experience.

Art of Speed 2026 also welcomed an extensive line-up of international guests from countries including Japan, the United States, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei and the Philippines. Representatives from renowned names such as MOONEYES, Liberty Walk, Hawgholic, DicE Magazine and Hot Wheels joined builders, artists and industry personalities from around the region, highlighting the event’s growing international profile.

Among the automotive highlights were several rare and highly customised machines, including a 1945 Harley-Davidson Knucklehead from Japan’s Hawgholic and a 1966 Harley-Davidson Shovelhead from Vise Clothing. The festival also showcased custom vehicles from Thailand and Taiwan, while Liberty Walk’s appearance attracted significant attention from enthusiasts.

Away from the vehicle displays, the SoundCircus Festival once again formed a major part of the weekend’s entertainment. Featuring performances across six stages, the music festival hosted a wide range of local and regional artistes, while introducing what organisers described as Asia’s first flying fox attraction over a live concert audience.

The event also continued to receive support through the Concert and Events in Malaysia Incentive (CEMI) programme administered by MyCreative Ventures under the Ministry of Communications. The initiative aims to support international-scale events while contributing to Malaysia’s creative economy and cultural tourism.

Competition remained at the heart of the festival, with the Art of Speed Invitational Bike Build-Off returning to showcase the craftsmanship of custom motorcycle builders. Mujo Joros claimed both the Overall Jury Winner and Public Choice awards with a customised GPX Gentleman 200, taking home a combined RM20,000 in prize money.

Collectors also had plenty to look forward to at the 4th Official Hot Wheels Collectors Convention Malaysia. The convention featured exhibitions, community activities and the launch of the exclusive HWCCM 2026 Custom Nissan Skyline GT-R V•Spec II (BNR34), complete with official Nissan licensing and unique collector numbering. Hot Wheels Premium Lead Product Designer Ronald Wong was also among the special guests at the convention.

This year’s festival expanded its partnerships with several international and local brands while introducing additional lifestyle attractions. Visitors could explore themed exhibitions, diecast collectibles, vintage fashion, cycling showcases, automotive flea markets and interactive sponsor activations alongside food vendors and motorcycle test rides, ensuring there was something for enthusiasts of all interests.

The returning Kembara Passport activity rewarded visitors with prizes worth more than RM80,000, including a custom Thunder Motorcycles 250 and a modified Honda HR-V MK1 Japan Edition as grand prizes.

Tourism Selangor also used the festival as the platform to introduce Tourscape @ Selangor, encouraging motorists and motorcyclists to explore all 12 districts of the state through themed road trip routes while promoting local attractions and cultural experiences.

The festival concluded with its annual awards ceremony recognising outstanding custom builds. Shaun Jonathan Pinto’s 1957 356 Speedster Replica secured the Best of Show Automobile title, earning a trip to attend the 34th Annual MOONEYES Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show 2026 in Japan. Meanwhile, The Bangkok Boys claimed the Best of Show Motorcycle honour for their craftsmanship. Numerous additional awards were presented across automobile, motorcycle and bicycle categories, celebrating creativity, engineering and design from participants across the region.

With strong international participation, a broad entertainment programme and an expanding range of automotive and lifestyle attractions, Art of Speed 2026 once again demonstrated the growing appeal of Malaysia’s custom culture scene while bringing together enthusiasts from across Southeast Asia and beyond.
